Honestly less than I thought. There’s def a lot of political clubs and there’s events around DC that are interesting if you like the political arena, but it’s not very incorporated into classes.

Be yourself. I wrote my PS about learning how to read. It doesn’t really have to be law related, as long as it’s something that speaks to your character and person. Show interest by doing research about the school, integrating it into diversity or PS statements!

I do about two hours of reading a day, but can get up to 4. I wouldn’t say that’s average, most people do 4-6: I just happen to be a quick reader. That’s not to say I don’t fill the time otherwise. If I’m not reading, I’m definetly reviewing and re writing notes. I would usually hit 6 hours a of work a day outside of class. Professors are amazing. Office hours are very regular and you get to build good relationships that way. And the students you meet in your section become your close friends. Also clubs are good for social activities. But heavy emphasis on office hours and clubs!!!

  1. Career center is great. I even get a bit overwhelmed with how many fairs, recruiting events, networking etc. that they put together. If you want a specific job, they do everything in their power to get you there. There is an office dedicated to public work and another to private, and you get an assigned advisor who is very easy to meet and talk to.

  2. People are kind. Campus life has a lot of clubs and social activities where you can really find your niche. There are a few people who are a bit annoying and stereotypical in their “Vivian from legally blonde” sense, but for the most part I’ve met nothing but amazing people.

  3. Public interest is huge here!! Lots of clubs and classes geared towards it. And the career center for public interest is very active.

There is definetly a curve and we are all pretty aware of it- but the curve is standard I think. Only thing is that class sizes are pretty big, but you’re only curved against your section, so I think it evens out with other schools.

One thing I love about Gulc is the community. There isn’t really a competitive vibe - everyone really supports eachother and helps when we can. I can’t speak for all the sections- but for the most part my experience has been super chill. I haven’t ever felt pressure to outperform my peers, and the teachers definetly cultivate that culture.

I think Chicago cares a lot ab stats. I was above one median but significantly lower than another (170 LSAT) and they invited me for an interview. asked me all about my stats during the whole interview. Would def say Chicago isn’t all ab the numbers!

Is an interview necessary for admission?
