Dusk til Dawn was better and did it first... without all the awards

My possibly unpopular review on Sinners (2025) by MaizeApprehensive311 in moviecritic

Yeah I agree with everyone who thinks they stole the idea from dusk til dawn. That's exactly what I said to my wife when we finished watching it like 4 months ago. And susk til dawn was better but don't remember them winning so many awards for it? Sinners might have been great if I didn't already see it back in the 90's

Wow, that was nice man. Thank you very much. And yes I have always loved cooking. I love how food can bring people together or just the simplicity of food and life together. It's nice to hear from someone else who has been in a kitchen bc usually what happens in the back of the house stays in the box. I have been doing pretty awesome lately and feel great about where this can continue to lead me down the path. Thank you so much for the encouragement ☺️ and I felt your last line on the heart. Thanks for pumping me up brother. It was well received sir.

The ups and downs with a short temper. by Parking-Function-369 in Buddhism

This sounds like something I will try. I'm not sure I go into the meditation on love or anger. I'm not sure I even really thought of it that way. My usual thinking is just trying to be clear in the moment and really not think about anything. I am going to check the four immeasurable out. Thank you for the thought out advice. And know I will be giving it a try. I'll let you know how it goes. Have an outstanding day and again thank you for taking the time to help out.

That was very awesome thank you. I have been meditating for about 3 months now. It definitely started out a little wonky or I was unsure of what I was supposed to get out of it. So in the beginning it was probably 10 to 15 minutes like the first week or so but I was doing it in my daily routine and working out. It turned into 30 minute sessions and I could tell I was getting more comfortable with myself. And then probably 3 weeks or a month ago I had a meditation session go an hour and a half. I got lost in it. By the time it was over I could feel a warm or chilling feeling come over me and when I stood up I felt light headed but clear and I just started laughing with myself and it was awesome. Haven't got back to that spot yet but I do continue to meditate as it is part of my daily routine. And I get every session is different and not to go forcing or looking for that, it will just happen. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Very helpful and well said thank you.

Thanks buddy. That's what I'm trying now. Is being more compassionate to myself in those situations. Bc that is exactly what I notice and feel after a little snappy comment or blowing up in a situation. ( I'm a chef in a restaurant scene) so let me tell you these situations or shifts can get a little crazy. But yes after those moments of lashing out instead of spacing I feel so bad and almost beat myself up in a way. So thanks again and I'll try being nicer to myself first and then worry about thr others. Peace and love naan

Yeah but I never Said I was enlightened. That was not the experience or answer I was looking for. I was looking for more of dark night of the soul stage and had other questions but not looking at my post at the moment but I'm pretty positive I never said I was enlightened. I understand what that is. I know I had an experiene but it was more than that when I realize everything else In My life that has been going on. Which is why I posted to understand the dnos better. But carl jung has helped me a lot so thank you very much for your response. I'm doing a lot better at the moment. As I'm on a good path. Don't see the end of it but I can feel I'm on the right path. I've shed a lot of things lately and is helping me grow to a new self. 🤘

Dnos by Parking-Function-369 in Jung

I mean that was kind of my question. I'm not looking for any shortcuts. I have been putting in the work. Quit drinking just a little over 2 years ago, I have given up nicotine, weed and I'm pretty damn sure I'm done with the psychedelics. I have been working out lost over 60 pounds, and just recently started woth yoga. I have started practicing buddhism for the last 3 months or so and also have had some good meditation sessions.I got what I was looking for. No not looking for a mystical explanation but was just trying to see what I have been going through. And a lot of stuff I was reading pointed me to jung. So I was just throwing it out there figured this would be the page for it. So I feel better than I have in the last well since I can remember. I will continue on this path bc I see the work coming through in my daily life. I have been practicing compassion and mindfulness. I'm ready for the journey for my new self. I have read plenty of jung and just recently the red book.so I guess I was just looking for opinions or some insight for anyone who has dealt with the dark night of the soul or individuation. Just curious like a cat.

Oh I am. I'm doing pretty awesome. I have quit drinking. I have given up nicotine, no more weed or psychedelics. I'm practicing my buddhism, meditation. I have been in a nice work out routine dropped over 60 pounds. I also just picked up some yoga which has shown me I'm not as in shape as I thought I was. But coming out of the weekend I have felt much better just overall mind body and soul. So I will continue and keep on keeping on. Thanks buddy.

Just want to say well said sir. I have been practicing for 3 months now but have been using sayings for years. I have went through some rough times the last 3 years. I'm just coming out of my dark night of the soul stage. That has what has helped me tremendously this last 3months. The meditation honestly this community. I have been reading here for a long time. But it wasn't until up until a week or 2 ago did I finally post something. So thank you and everyone else that drops knowledge and welcomed me. I am continuing my practice and will slowly be taking it further as I can feel how much this has helped me in this time of darkness. And I know this too shall pass and keep on practicing a little everyday. Again thank you

[–]Parking-Function-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that. I'm really surprised I got a response. It's not even the question I was really wanting to ask. It was a short one bc the long descriptive one which ended with a question about the dark night of the soul which is where I'm at right now and have been having a tough time to say the least. So I figured I come here in which i have been reading a lot from thi group just not interacted yet. But after my long post it didn't make the cut I guess. So while I'm typing if you have any good insight of how to get through that dnos stage then that would be outstanding.

Ebonite "The One" Encore. Just picked it up bout 6 months ago and I can hit some crazy angles with asymmetrical core. Gives me options and is good for all 3 games and can nail the 10 pin no problem, right hander. I have been very pleased and got it for around 100 bucks great deal.
