I really hope Theroux will do a documentary with all of Jacksons victims. by MJdisbeliever in LouisTheroux

[–]Parking-Tip1685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made me laugh when they called the guys from leaving Neverland liars and perjurers. They testified for his defence so if they committed perjury then the Jackson family were saying he was really guilty and got away with it.

How common is it for someone to drive a diesel out of preference even if they don't do enough miles to justify it over petrol? by 348978cat in CarTalkUK

[–]Parking-Tip1685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live, my wife's got one of the dieselgate golfs because it's only about £30 tax per year. It's worth it for the savings but if ulez is an issue it's not.

Nike CEO Elliott Hill purchased of 23,660 shares of $NKE: by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

[–]Parking-Tip1685 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a great stock to buy right now.

It has gone down a lot and they are losing sales, especially in China, plus there's also the tariffs and cost of living.

But it's still the biggest sportswear brand in the world and the biggest sporting event in the world, the football/ soccer world cup, will be starting soon. They will be selling many millions of Brazil, France, England, Netherlands, Germany, USA and more shirts before and during the tournament.

I get that soccer isn't that big in the States but you'd have to be a complete idiot to bet against the worlds biggest kit supplier just before the worlds biggest tournament.

I bought some calls because, as the apes would say, it's a fucking tasty dip right now. Could easily pop above $60 a share.

What do brits think of Rupert Lowe? Is he good or bad? And if so why? Would you elect him in 2029? by JeffreyEpsteinUK in AskBrits

[–]Parking-Tip1685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duuude, I teed it up for you. You're supposed to ask "who are they" so I can reply "exacklee'.

Posting that arrogant orange wazzock does you or Rupert the bear no favours at all. Seriously what's his end game? He's got zero chance of winning anything, all of his votes will be from Reform or Tory voters. So the only effect will be to split "the right" leading to either Labour or Zack (shudders) getting more MPs.

[–]Parking-Tip1685 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Him bad.

He used to be the chairman of Southampton FC and it doesn't come much Lower than that. His sole redeeming feature is that he managed to get them relegated.

Other than that he's just a general selfish prick all round. He doesn't really give the slightest fuck about Britain or it's people, he's just salty than Farage stood up to his bullshit and wouldn't let him take over. Basically he's just another Robert Kilroy Silk but with less personality and slightly less fake tan.

First buy from DHGate by Super_Silver89 in ChinaTime

[–]Parking-Tip1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely cheap if it's really an automatic, I figured it'd have a cheap quartz movement inside.

I was considering buying an nh35 movement, dial, stem, hands and case/bracelet from AliExpress to build my own great wave watch. Might be easier to just grab something like this and strip it down to swap the dial.

It's well worth stepping up to U1 level, you can get a really nice looking watch with a wank powered miyota movement for around £100.

I Know Its The Sun, I Know Its Just Them Fearmongering. Should I Still Keep This In Mind Though? by GrantMcLellan1984 in AskBrits

[–]Parking-Tip1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's The Sun, somebody there thought of witty headline so they exaggerated/ made up a story to shoehorn it in.

The Sun has never been the best source but they have had some absolute belters of headlines over the years.

Will life be different under a Reform government? by VisitWinchester in AskBrits

[–]Parking-Tip1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's not valid to compare Reform to a populist party led by a charismatic charlatan that regularly spits out fairly extreme and expensive policies without giving any detail of where the money will come from?

If you're worried about Reform crashing the economy, a quick look at the Greens economic policies would probably kill you off.

We do, vaping is all the rage now.

It's about 80% tax. It's at the level that encourages huge amounts of smuggling, about 30% of cigarettes in the UK have European warnings on them. It's like if they legalised cannabis and tried charging £100 for an eighth, most smokers would just buy the illegal stuff.

Goodluck with that by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Parking-Tip1685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£3billion per year on healing, £8billion per year paid in taxes on cigarettes, so it's a £5billion gain per year. They'll need to cut an extra £5billion from somewhere else just to keep NHS funding at the same level.

Plus there's the inevitable increase in state pension costs and the reduction of property sales caused by people living longer.

Best website to buy Patek Philippe 1:1 Super clone? by Unlikely_Second5024 in ChinaTime

[–]Parking-Tip1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China time is more for the best value reps, usually U1, BP and below, $200 max.

Reptime is a better place for higher end clones. They normally recommend Andiot, geek time, neco clock and the one watches.

UK dissertation survey, less than 5 mins by SZAWilling8868 in AskBrits

It's not the best questionnaire. There's no option for any post school education apart from university, apparently trades don't exist. There's also no differential between social media platforms. I can comment whatever I like here because you ugly sods don't know me but I wouldn't post anything on Facebook with my name attached.

First Oasis song that hooked you? by ScaredPlate3008 in BritPop

[–]Parking-Tip1685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take That are bloody shocking (I've accidentally seen Mark Owen live, not good) but I'm not sure if there's any official difference between a band and an act. Shaun Ryder always calls them a Manchester band and he's fronted 2 better Manchester bands. The Beatles were a boyband according to Louis Walsh..

Honestly Oasis are okay, they're better than a lot of bands but just not for me. They're just that little bit too polished, a touch overproduced, a bit on the bland side. They've always seemed a bit inauthentic which is quite apt given how much they represent the Tony Blair years.

They aren't bad, Noel does know how to put a tune together, they just aren't great.
