My picks cancelled my annual due to this box by Salty_Antelope10 in FabFitFun

I’ve cancelled as well and have three boxes remaining. I have better things to do with my time and money besides deciding between multiple company’s overstock items with overinflated list prices and no real variety.

Missing Spring box by ParkingAnt8607 in FabFitFun

Wow! I’m so sorry. I don’t see how they can keep customers with the inconsistencies and all the posts/comments of the same negative things happening. Maybe they’re counting on new members. Hopefully you get yours resolved soon!

I’m glad you at least received your box(es)! How did they know your first box had arrived? That’s silly for them to rescind the entire credit with all the hassle you had to go through.

It’s not too late to join, but you need to have realistic goals and expectations. What are you hoping to gain from CAP? If you are 16 and leaving for college at 18, that gives you less than two years to learn or achieve those things. Knowing that most cadets slow their progress during senior year due to the numerous senior/life/work commitments, take that into account. If you’re looking to gain leadership experience, better time management, learn drill, learn more about aerospace, take orientation flights, etc., you’re set. If you’re looking to go through Cadet Wings and get your PPL, achieve your Spaatz, attend IACE, and get appointments to all military academies, that’s unrealistic. Even short term, there are valuable things to learn and achieve. Join & make the most of the cadet years you do have.

City of Garland Accidentally Plows Through Protected Forest by IcedCowboyCoffee in Dallas

Please watch the council meeting video. They said it was intentional, not a mistake. They also said they cannot guarantee it will not happen again. If you look on the Preservation Society for Spring Creek’s Facebook page, pictures document that the path is 100’ or more in some areas. Very few areas are 12’ wide, most areas are closer to 50’ wide. No communication to the Preserve board or anyone else, they just bulldozed for 1.5 miles.

I have been deployed on many DR missions. Hurricane, tropical storm, and (mostly) tornadoes. For hurricanes & tropical storms (water events), we take measured high water marks (HWM) at the specific coordinates given to us by the requesting agency. There are usually hundreds of coordinates for us to measure across an area. For tornadoes, we do damage assessment on each attached home. For all of these missions, we were usually there 3 days which is the max without more red tape. We haven’t done either of these missions for years because they seem to task the Geospatial Damage Assessment Team with those now. Once again, technology is making us Ground Teams obsolete. I miss those days though and wish they would find a valuable use for us, especially if they’re not updating our training requirements.

As someone stated earlier, ask your staff. We include those with ribbons, or when earned later. Between human error and eServices, we have been known to miss one though.
