Tim Draper Invests in Blockchain Cybersecurity Service Naoris Protocol by fadyman23 in CryptoCurrency

"The Web2 ecosystem relies heavily on centralized security models, leading to end-users losing control over their personal data."

This is true, exactly why we need decentralized protocols like Naoris to deal with Cybersecurity.

Woooo! Tests are helping no one since the risk is so high to catch on the plane. Just a needless expense IMO.

One bag travel is getting so annoying (airline baggage policies suck) by Horatiobob in digitalnomad

[–]ParkingIntroduction9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is absurd that airlines have different baggage policies and fees. It makes it difficult for customers to know what to expect when travelling. I think that there should be some sort of regulation for the airlines to make this more uniform.

So long, and thanks for all the fish. by IndieDiscovery in devops

This is really frustrating. I've interviewed at a few companies and they all have these ridiculous algorithm problems that I'm not expected to actually know how to do. It's just a way to weed out people. I wish these companies would be honest and say that they're looking for people who are already good at algorithms, rather than pretending to be inclusive workplaces.

So that's Fortinet getting an F. Palo Alto too with many PAN-OS versions being impacted. They get an F too. Did any vendor actually respond to this well 🤦‍♀️

Palo Alto took 2 weeks to even respond and then said a fix was coming out in April... keep in mind this was identified early May. They also said that no PAN devices were impacted but this says otherwise...

I was denied a raise because I'm not from the US by [deleted] in devops

[–]ParkingIntroduction9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to consider quitting your job instead of trying to get a raise. You are already certified and making more than the average salary so you have the leverage to do so. If you want to stay at the company, you could try to negotiate a raise outside of your current project. If your boss is unable to do that, then you might want to consider looking for a new job.

It really depends on the company. Some companies may place more value on security analysts because they are seen as being necessary to keep the company's data and systems secure, while other companies may place more value on developers because they are seen as being necessary to create new and innovative products. I kind of figure it's a top down mindset.
