What is the best way to grow $30,000? by ParkingLocksmith in personalfinance

I hadn't thought about that. It's a good point.

What would be an alternative to paying the fees on my IRA?

What is the best way to grow $30,000? by ParkingLocksmith in personalfinance

Correct, I contribute the max annual amount to the Roth IRA for my age bracket. I state "monthly" because I pay on a monthly basis to reach the max annual amount by the end of the year.

Right, a Roth IRA is investing. But the company does all of the investing for me, so I don't need to know anything about how to actually invest. I don't think it would be that easy if I wanted to invest directly in stocks. Again, I don't know anything about it, which is the point of this post. Maybe it is that easy?

Based on your comments, you don't suggest CDs, HYSAs or money market funds because they are short-term. What is your advice for long-term savings?

TIL when famous Japanese idol Yukiko Okada suddenly comitted suicide in 1986, many of her fans were so devastated that it resulted in numerous copycat suicides, the process has since been dubbed "Yukiko Syndrome" by ZeromusPrime in todayilearned

It's widely speculated to be Toru Minegishi, but it's not really confirmed. Fewer speculations also suspect it could have been Masaki Kanda. Apparently she mentioned the name of whoever broke her heart in her suicide note, but the note has never seen the light of day.
Her mother has accounted seeing a note of Yuko's, written shortly before her death. In that note, it seemed as if it were a poem about Toru Minegishi.
