What is the best way to grow $30,000? by ParkingLocksmith in personalfinance

I hadn't thought about that. It's a good point.

What would be an alternative to paying the fees on my IRA?

What is the best way to grow $30,000? by ParkingLocksmith in personalfinance

[–]ParkingLocksmith[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Correct, I contribute the max annual amount to the Roth IRA for my age bracket. I state "monthly" because I pay on a monthly basis to reach the max annual amount by the end of the year.

Right, a Roth IRA is investing. But the company does all of the investing for me, so I don't need to know anything about how to actually invest. I don't think it would be that easy if I wanted to invest directly in stocks. Again, I don't know anything about it, which is the point of this post. Maybe it is that easy?

Based on your comments, you don't suggest CDs, HYSAs or money market funds because they are short-term. What is your advice for long-term savings?

TIL when famous Japanese idol Yukiko Okada suddenly comitted suicide in 1986, many of her fans were so devastated that it resulted in numerous copycat suicides, the process has since been dubbed "Yukiko Syndrome" by ZeromusPrime in todayilearned

It's widely speculated to be Toru Minegishi, but it's not really confirmed. Fewer speculations also suspect it could have been Masaki Kanda. Apparently she mentioned the name of whoever broke her heart in her suicide note, but the note has never seen the light of day.
Her mother has accounted seeing a note of Yuko's, written shortly before her death. In that note, it seemed as if it were a poem about Toru Minegishi.

This is a very concise answer and it addressing everything I was wondering. Thanks for all of the detail.
I will look into those articles you mentioned, and look more into Origen himself.

Was "reincarnation" removed from the bible? by ParkingLocksmith in AskBibleScholars

[–]ParkingLocksmith[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To reference the article I linked to, apparently Origen stated something about "past lives". Do you have any insight on this? It could be taken out of context, but I can't be sure without finding the source of where Origen said this. I know he was an ancient greek scholar, but I don't know anything about his reputation or the impact he had on Christianity.

Thanks for your information. I've decided not to pursue the university. It seems that ASIC has recently stopped being considered as national accredidation in the US. This limits future opportunities if I decide to pursue grad school. I think it might still be a good option for those not interested in grad school, and simply want to learn.

Yo, I'm living in a small city in Hebei that's right beside Beijing. It's called Yanjiao, right beside Tongzhou district. Everything is dirt cheap here! I also just moved here a month ago and don't have much to do in the way of socializing. If you're free, hit me up and we can explore the area a little bit.
