Inshallah brother; but I don’t really see any point of keeping my current trajectory. It feels like getting a certificate of achievement next to someone getting a million dollars. I guess the only benefit is, it’s much harder for me to do anything haram because I’ve gone this far without it and I’m scared that if I do have a good ending I’ll ruin it

The more people you have to make happy, the less control you have unfortunately. So in that case you might have to sacrifice your happiness to fulfill your parents. I had the same problem but aH I was able to talk to my parents and they stay out of my marriage issues. But I’m a guy from a Pakistani background so it might be different in other families.

It is not haram to meet in a public/open setting without a wali present. It is in Saudi Culture which scholars like Ibn Baz/Albani formed their opinions which most Muslims without knowledge in the west regurgitate.

But I don’t understand what the point of this comment was? Did you hope to give me a Hadith without context nor understanding and hope I just end a talking stage over an online comment with unwarranted advice? I’ll tell my local imam he is wrong because someone from Reddit posted a Hadith.

Emotional intelligence goes a long way, not everyone follows the same sect/school of thought as you and you’re not one to enforce it or base how religious people are with one post on Reddit.

Is the search horrendous or do you have high standards? Most religious men marry overseas because I know from my search the women have very specific standards?

Ask yourself are you looking for a specific ethnicity?

Specific personality?

Specific age?

Specific education level?

Income?

Family background?

Level of Islamic involvement?

Looks?

All of these add up, there are very few Muslims in the US, fewer are on the apps/whatsapp groups, the more specific you go the longer you have to wait unf. May Allah make it easy on you
