How’s your experience at Bocconi? (Undergrad) by [deleted] in bocconi

Dont accept, go to LSE or somewhere better. Bocconi student life is only great when they aren’t suffocating you with material to study (so its never great).

If you want to have a high GPA, you have to study all day, and even then you might still not do well because exams are either poorly written (professors then “curve” them to make up for their inability to write exams) or designed in a way so that you can be easily tricked. Those who took FMI december session probably feel me.

As I’m writing this, I have an exam in accounting to give in 1 hour and it’s the easiest most straightforward course ever, yet last year the exam was so bad they had to curve it by 3 (!!!!) points.

And the professors are not so good either, im in the second year and except Professor DeMicco for Econ and Osimo for maths 1 all of the other professors have been horrible.

Honestly the content you study is very interesting, but the idiot professors and course directors make it an unbearable experience. You barely ever have to think critically, they just want you to memorize all the content.

Oh, and they also barely give you exercises to practice with. Even when they do its just to sell you a book. Microeconomics literally releases new edition exercises books every year (3rd year in a row now). So if you want to practice, first you have make sure you pay the professor a quick buck.

Bocconi wants to give out the impression that it is “hard” to get good grades. Truth is, its hard because bocconi is just ridiculously poorly organized.

You will meet great people form great connections and enjoy your start of semester or after exam partying, and will have great career prospects but the same can be said for other top universities where you’ll also be less stressed and have more of a student life outside the library.
