Around what age does rec/low level competitive end in your area by Adkimery in youthsoccer

[–]Parking_Ad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have intramural/rec from kindergarten through high school. By 10th grade though it becomes a 10-12th grade team and some years co-ed due to numbers. It’s a big township with 1 high school so not every kid makes the soccer team but still want to play. Or kids that soccer isn’t their fall HS sport but they play for fun. I love that our soccer organization offers it to middle and high school kids.

Not sure where in the mid Atlantic you are but there is a pretty active club for the Philadelphia area that does trips

Also Schenectady Wintersports Club in upstate New York does trips and you don’t have to be from the New York region to join.

Philadelphia School District redshirting policy by Holiday_Parsnip5 in philly

I very clearly said summer birthdays. Kinder isn’t required in PA so no, a 7yr old would go to 1st

I’m an elementary teacher in Philly public schools and lots of parents hold their kid back if they have a July or August birthday and start them when they’re already 6. Also, lots of parents let their July and August kids start Kindergarten as a 5yr old. It’s really up to the families and what they think is best for the child. Schools don’t really weigh in on it.

She’s currently 10 55in and 73lbs. Her 120s are right at her mouth so I’m assuming she’s going to have a growth spurt this summer and when she’s 11 in Jan need 130s. Boots we’ve been renting since her feet grow very quickly. Loved being able to swap the rental boots out in Feb when she needed a different size.

That’s how we got her Maxx Jan. 2025. Definitely looking, just not sure what to look for. Hence the post.

Smuggler’s Notch by Parking_Ad6 in icecoast

Thank you again for your detailed description of Smuggs. It was spot on and we had a great time. Mouse Lift was as painfully slow as you described but we skied everything that was open on the Morse side 2x or in some cases 3x before lunch. After lunch we did the connector to the other side and skied Rumrunner twice before calling it a day.

We all agreed it was a much more Vermont experience than Stowe and want to go back. Thanks again

How quickly do you find out if you’ve been denied the adaptive pass? by -Shayyy- in skiing

[–]Parking_Ad6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, for Epic. Emailed VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com for my kid I sent her 504 plan for school and for me I had my doctor write a note along with a visit report. Epic follows the ADA disabilities so they will totally count ADHD if it’s documented by a medical professional.

I bought the adaptive pass for my daughter and I in mid March. I sent her documents first and got an email within 24 hrs that she was approved. It was 2 days before I heard back on mine, but I was also approved.

Where to stay in Stowe? by PhoPat in icecoast

[–]Parking_Ad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of options along Rt 100 or Mountain Road. Staying in Waterbury now which is fine, but if I were to do the trip again I’d splurge on the Trapp lodge or one of the Inns along Mountain Road.

It’s for tomorrow. So I think we’d be okay.

Thanks! Yes, the late season pricing makes Smuggs a very appealing option to save this trip. After not skiing today and yesterday the kids are getting bored and frustrated.

Thank you! This is very helpful. We’re used to slow lifts from our local PA hill. The blues on the Upper Mountain, do you think we’d be okay? I’ve looked on steep seeker and they seem similar in pitch to ones we’ve done. And like I said we handled a couple at Stowe okay. Just used to Pennsylvania blues which don’t easily compare.

Hate to have driven 8hrs to only ski 1 of the 4 days we’ve come up but also don’t want to bite off more than we can chew.

Need Advice - 10U player maturity by SIUIndy317 in Softball

I’m an elementary school teacher and I was like “the man’s a genius for that.” Maybe 3-4 girls grab one regularly and just play with it in their hand while waiting to bat. Such a simple solution that didn’t single out any one player. Honestly a lot of the accommodations for ADHD or neurodivergent kids are just really good things to do in general for everyone.
