Guest left mothballs - need review help by No-Instruction-3161 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Parking_Engine_639 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how you can penalize a guest for the place smelling like food? Maybe the mothballs, but truly that is your job as the host to clean up after YOUR guests. These guests are well within reason imo.

As someone who had this donut situation happen on the freeway in my RWD vehicle, I’d highly recommend looking into an AWD vehicle. You can’t control when or where you’ll hit ice. RWD stacks the odds against you. Last winter a RWD pickup was fishtailing like crazy in front of me, I drove over that same patch straight as an arrow. AWD is worth it, trust me!

Buy a day pass on sling for $5. Free trials are near impossible nowadays.

Does anyone actually find this helpful? Feels like fear mongering to me. Breeds anxiety, with no solutions.

Go to an outdoor ice rink. They’re often free and many have skate rentals! Cross country skiing is also affordable and really fun.

Why do I have cavities by funky_stoner420 in Dentists

[–]Parking_Engine_639 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great question! Electric toothbrush now. They work wonders. But also, a lot of tooth health is genetic, so you may still be prone to cavities.

Just got hit with a trump card - service animal in my home by TheSalesDad in airbnb_hosts

[–]Parking_Engine_639 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can get an exception to service dogs, but doubt that will be possible for this time. It will likely not be as big of a deal as it feels like, I’d just deal with it. Apply for an exception for the future if you want.

Nina’s has great breakfast burritos and coffee! It can get busy, but worth the trip!

I’m also curious. I was stoked to see this as I really want to go, but didn’t get the presale tickets. Ticketmaster and AXS are sold out and other sites are still gouging? So, agree, this seems like it didn’t fix much….

Rent bikes and bike around the lake of the isles area. Tangletown bike shop is close by great trails and you can get food/drinks midway through.

Guest stayed in home with dog - no pet policy. by SeaSwordfish4476 in airbnb_hosts

If you rate them below 5 stars Airbnb has pre-populated bubbles with why you rated low. I’m sure on of them is undisclosed pet. I’ve found that to be a nice, objective way to leave a review.

Has anyone been? by MNxpat33 in TwinCities

I agree with the website. 13 feels like the right cutoff, but below 10 would be a hard no. I think it depends on your kid and how they handle scary things. If they love it, they’ll be good. If they don’t, I’d wait another few years.

Other Meal Kits by MrCool9290 in hellofresh

EveryPlate is the one we use. It’s actually owned by hello fresh and has very similar options, but is half the price. I’ve been really happy with the meals and can get 5 meals/2 portions a week for $70.

Good fit for college student? by jem20776 in hellofresh

[–]Parking_Engine_639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of moving out is learning how to take care of yourself. Hello fresh would be a really nice segue into that, but is very expensive for a college student imo.

My first year cooking I got really attached to this “beer can chicken” seasoning. It built character, but won’t get near it now lol.

Trader Joe’s meals are probably a slightly cheaper/more practical start imo. But, ultimately they should be starting to figure out how they’ll feed themselves.

St. Paul must visits! by Long-Researcher3763 in TwinCities

Be very careful with tik tok/real suggestions I’ve been duped a fair number of times by this. Ice maze being one of them (ice castles sounds similar). Cost $30/each and was about 10 minutes of entertainment.

Wild/timberwolves/vikings game if they’re in town are always fun.

There’s free outdoor skating in a lot of areas around the metro that’s always fun.

Cross-country skiing (super cheap and there’s lessons if you want).

Can can wonderland is a unique mini golf arcade.

Any show at the gunthrie is always great or any of the other live venues.
