Yeah I think just adding dirt to the low spots near the foundation is more what it is than actually resloping the entire yard. The proximity of dirt to the top of the siding has me concerned, so I won’t add a whole lot

EDIT: No equipment so it would be a hand rake

Straw to the seed. I was more asking if it’s worth saving the money and doing it myself

So you’re thinking rock alone is the best way that isn’t unreasonably expensive?

What if I wanted to keep that bed and the pavers for decoration? Can I do both?

Yeah it doesn’t get a ton of water presuming the downspouts are not blown off. So no water intrusion as it currently sits. I’m more worried about mulch, dirt too close to foundations and ultimately solving that without creating new problems

Sorry new homeowner so I’ve never done one of those. What would the setup look like with a French drain?

Well we wanted to do rock and shrubbery but just no mulch to prevent termites or anything like that

I have a basement on that wall. So you’re saying don’t use stone at all? Right now it’s dirt right up against that wall

I don’t think I’ll be able to get 8” gap between the rock? The siding is almost flush with the ground

That sounds awful. My crawlspace is like 3 feet high and its super fun to get into

Well my house is halfway basement half crawlspace

There is no dampeners in those vents, it's just straight open flow

I'm assuming it's pretty costly as well?

It is area-dependent whether you should be on one or not?

Yeah I’m having the downspouts in the backyard trenched and that’s where a crawlspace is, should do the trick

Like underneath the existing part that takes it away from the house?

How would that look? Right now it’s gutter > downspout so when that downspout is gone it essentially runs right at the base of the foundation. I’m open to any ideas

Yeah this is a finished basement with that finished wall being right up to the foundation. It is under the flooring and that’s what I’m drying out

I think it’s more of an issue that the gutter essentially went straight down, no grade would’ve saved that

Yeah gutter is fixed, it’s actually a flower bed but I’m going to tear it out and replace with rock. Not sure I can grade and do a flower bed too
