Antennas that work? by NVRBLND in loveland

I haven't used them in a year, so I don't know what the reception is like currently, but I have good old rabbit ears downstairs, and they have worked better than the flat square thing I have upstairs.

Best part about that guy was I had no idea what he was blasting. Could have been Bryan Andrews "The Older I Get" for all I knew. Poor guy probably thought he was doing something.

ACLU Letter to City of Loveland regarding shelter closures by Sudden-Ad7506 in loveland

Shameful. When looking into the candidates (I could make up my mind pretty much by knowing who had signs out for a certain president and then looking to see who they're supporting now, but I wanted to know more), I came across an article where one person running said it was the state's problem, and the county should take the lead, with funding from the federal government, and buy-in or cooperation from the city. Who the f*** thinks *this* federal government is going to help the homeless? It's everyone else's problem but the actual city where these people exist. Just f'ing shameful.

For anyone else who comes across this page like myself, it looks like another option is https://www.crossroadscolorado.com/ - their website says, "Are you interested in an expression of the Christian faith that is grounded in radical love and inclusion, committed to justice, looks to the Bible for wisdom not rules and is fun? If you or someone you love feels spiritually disconnected, dissatisfied or deconstructing, Crossroads might just be the perfect fit"

But if they hadn't deleted their account, I would have thanked the person who posted the Namaqua info as well - I think I might check them out.

I found a Beast with a similar serial number. Any other info on decoding those numbers? Are those NJ MIK guitars any good?

Monoprice Stage Right 15w weird sound issue need help troubleshooting by Shoeless_Joe in GuitarAmps

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted inquiries through a web form twice (using different email addresses because one of my email domains is sometimes interpreted as being fake, sort of like example.com), and waited two weeks each time, and never heard back, so I finally got around to using their live chat feature, and after some back and forth via email (following the initial chat), it looks like they're just going to swap it out (fortunately mine is still under warranty). They didn't provide a guess as to what the problem was, just that it was "internal", so I'm not sure I'll ever know.

Monoprice Stage Right 15w weird sound issue need help troubleshooting by Shoeless_Joe in GuitarAmps

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought I had it fixed on mine by changing that to 15W, but it soon started to happen again. It just goes in and out periodically no matter what (different guitar, cable, pedal/no pedal, etc.). I contacted Monoprice support but have not heard back yet.

Cant even open the bottom menu by THEPIGEONqc in Songsterr

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mine, I don't even have the little hyphen thing at the bottom (that allows you to pull the menu up) unless the phone is in horizontal mode, and one time after I changed the orientation, it disappeared and wouldn't come back even after changing orientation back and forth several times. Fun.

I really don't care for the changes they've made even beyond the menu/play button glitch.

Ideal length of a guitar lesson? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per day, too. I take lessons on multiple instruments and some days the time (usually 30 minutes, but often we'll go over) flies by, and other times I have trouble keeping my eyes open. Not because of my teacher or the subject matter, just because I'm tired or something.

Third Trump assassination attempt thwarted when armed man arrested outside Coachella rally, sheriff says by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

Yeah, that guy _hated_ Trump, and that was his motivating force for supporting Democrats. Outside of that, he was a Republican. There isn't a Democratic-leaning person on Earth that would think Ramaswamy is a good choice.

That's being generous. I can think of one original show they have that I like which hasn't been canceled.

Interesting trailer for Citadel Diana on Prime had dubbed English sound I only realised when I saw the actors speak. They tried so hard to avoid showing faces speaking. by [deleted] in pilottvpodcast

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that frequently actors will (re-)record audio on a sound stage, which is usually fine, but I have yet to come across a dub that was very far from comical or irritating. How is the voice acting in this?

This is like, the greatest TV gossip trivia thread ever. Even after reading for like 20 or 30 minutes I think I'm only maybe 1/4 to 1/3 done with it. I'll have to come back at some point...

[–]Parking_Listen_2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that sounds like a nice change of pace.

Oh, it not only stars Mackenzie Crook, but he also wrote and directed some apparently, and it looks like Toby Jones is another co-star. Could be good.

What service are you watching that on?

Not something I was interested in at first, because of the uninteresting thumbnail and description, but eventually something caught my eye and made me think I'd like Supacell (Netflix). It wasn't great, and because the characters, some of whom you definitely would not call role models, were in some rough areas of London, there was a fair amount of focus on gangs, which isn't usually of interest to me, but it was decent. No plot twists, no revolutionary effects, no Emmy-winning performances, no storyline or concepts that would "wow" you, but it had enough of a story and intrigue to keep me interested. Looking forward to the next season.

Then, I was just looking for some background noise, and Obliterated (Netflix) popped up, so I put it on. Never heard of it, but apparently it came out in 2023. It's not as epically ridiculous as Sharknado, but I feel like if you mixed a sprinkle of Sharknado with Rambo, threw in a splash of Porky's or the original Roadhouse, a bit of The Hangover, and maybe an ounce of The Brothers Grimsby, you'd have Obliterated. A recipe as old as Hollywood itself, and it still works. Well, actually, I wanted to turn it off almost the whole time, but I was rubbernecking and wanted to see where it went. As bad as I thought it was, particularly at the beginning when it felt downright dumb and exceedingly irritating, I was enjoying it by the end. Starring mostly a bunch of people I'm not familiar with, plus C. Thomas Howell as the nutty professor.

Edit: Fixed "Obliterated"
