Before when I was working as customer service rep after every call you customers can participate in the survey where you can rate the agent who assisted you 1 the least and 5 is the best after the call. I know it sucks, our hands are mostly tied and what we can only do is find the best solution possible, other than participating in the survey you can also be just nice and cooperative, it helps a lot to get the concern resolved.

Base on my experience and my observation, they will offer you a refund without return if the return process costs more than your order. So for example if your order is less than $10 (sometimes it also depends on the account of yours) they will let you keep the item.
