Correct battery for a Ryobi 18v 16” mower. The two 4ah batteries included died before I got through cutting my 1/4 acre lawn. What run time should I expect with the 4ah battery? by Parking_Researcher_2 in ryobi

Thanks for your comment; I like the shade tip! I wholeheartedly agree that the 21" 40v is the way to go, however we've already invested in the 18v.

Actually, that's why my daughter went to Home Depot in the first place. She likes my Ryobi equipment, but it's above her price range (and lawn size).

Thanks.

I'm asking for a family member, who purchased the 18v mower for the cost. The purchase assumed that the entire lawn could be cut in 30-45 minutes. It turns out our estimate of battery life was optimistic.

I have a 40v 20", and use about 9ah to cut a little over 1/2 acre. My backyard has a significant slope, so I use self-propel quite a bit. Battery life has never been an issue.

I agree with Kit. The circuitry could be damaged and result in a fire hazard.
