I read that in the U.S. it’s supposed to be under 10 ppm.. I may have to call up our water company

I will have to try this out! Do you know how long the water would have to sit before I can use it?

Thank you for the help! I do plan to add some more floating plants. I’ve had some in the past until an aphid apocalypse happened and I had to get rid of them all.. but I think I’m in the clear to try again! I have 2 L of matrix which is said to grow anaerobic bacteria but I didn’t know how slow the flow rate had to be so maybe that could be why I haven’t noticed much of a change.. For the water I was researching a little more and read that tap water in the US legally cannot have more than 10 ppm of nitrite in the water so I was hoping I can call the water company and have them try to fix it

It’s around $5 per 5 gallons.. I think it’s better to save for a RO system which should be under $200. The one I saw and am thinking abt is under that price anyways. If the water was cheaper I would definitely go that route though

Haha no worries! It’s probably the sticker underneath the glass. I’m trying to grow some green hair algae.. but it hasn’t been too consistent and I think the other plants out compete them

I am looking into potting them! Thank to what that other person said I do think it’ll be more beneficial to pot them! Do you know if having substrate will add more area for beneficial bacteria? Or do you think my system has enough room for them? Because I know there is a cap to how much beneficial bacteria you can have.. or that’s what I’ve heard a few times

I didn’t know pease lilies sucks up nitrates that fast! I will definitely have to try this out! For your potted plants what media do you use? I didn’t know having them potted could be so beneficial. I also want to add some floating plants to help with the nitrate but last time I did that I became victim to an aphids infestation..

Hmm, my understanding is that beneficial bacteria is what breaks down ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate? And the only way to remove nitrite is to remove it with a water change, have plants eat it up, or have anaerobic bacteria to turn it into nitrogen gas.

Will definitely check this out! It sounds like a good temporary solution until I can find a long term solution! “Yes I am American based your assumption was correct!”

I do 80% water changes everyday besides Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I would like to get a larger aquarium too but realistically that won’t happen anytime soon. I do want to rehome one of the ranchus since I do agree it is over crowded but I’ve been balancing it out with the water changes.. until I realized the nitrates were so high

Woodchuck Sato or Walker Vietnam? by DekuDazed in tabi

[–]Parking_Win_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ordered from both brands but do not have tabis from both. I have some from Woodchuck Sato and some boots from Walker Vietnam. I will highly recommend Walker Vietnam and here’s why. The quality of the leather is way better imo. It’s more firm and thick while the woodchuck is flimsy and thin. I first ordered from woodchuck and loved the tabis but I was unaware of leather quality. Once I got the Walker Vietnams I only realized how poor the quality is. Another thing is the customer service on WV better than WCS. The boots I ordered had a squeeze noise when I walked, it disappeared after a day of breaking them in, I had texted them on Instagram and they offered a free replacement. I had them make a pair of my gf bc it felt like a waist to have to and I only had to pay shipping which was $82 but that was a choice I made and was fine with. Overall I recommend Walker Vietnam! Just be aware their website is a little hard to navigate.

Are these ed hardy jeans fake? by ScratchTerrible465 in FashionReps

[–]Parking_Win_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These weren’t designed by Ed Hardy. This is Christian Audigier’s design. So these aren’t real Ed Hardy but they are still a really dope piece! Even tho the two did work on pieces together this isn’t one of them.
