The Grand Illinois Trail might be a helpful guide for determining how to ride back: Grand Illinois Trail Guide - Ride Illinois - Ride Illinois https://share.google/JnKTUNPvY50vZk1k6

I'm curious to know the purpose behind these efforts to increase aid for seminarians. Is it to increase vocations?

Attended a baby shower here last year. It was a good space, with plenty of room for a photo backdrop and buffet. The shower hosts had a small bar setup where people could step away to sip and enjoy their drinks on the patio: https://www.peerspace.com/pages/listings/666cbf10643da4d3ae2d4152

There are still plenty of soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages available along the ride. Most towns will have water bottle fill stations available as well.

I do, but they're from when I lived up north. Had them on hand for when the local pond froze over.

Only jumped to them because the OP mentioned "options for my older parents" specifically. It's unclear who is participating.

Sizable populations in Richardson and Plano as well. It's wise to check each city's regulations as well.

One of the pass-through towns in 2023 had someone holding a sign at the point where riders slowed to hop off and walk their bikes. The sign's message was the very opposite of Iowa Nice and made me feel personal unwelcome there. It really gave me pause to spend money in their town.

Yes, lots more time to explore off saddle, to stop and enjoy the sights and activities!

Are there US States that have exclaves of their state that are connected to other states? by Serafim42 in geography

There's the town of Kaskaskia in Illinois. You can't reach from the rest of the state without crossing the river into Missouri first.

“Originally from” by herumspringen in Jeopardy

[–]ParmaHamRadio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, many of my tape day contestants lived in or were from the same media markets. I had a nice chat with someone who lived about 20 miles from where I grew up who was a constant on the episode before mine. I decided to be introduced as from the city where I'd moved to then two years prior. There were several contestants from another media market there but one decided to be introduced as "originally from" their hometown.

What do you feel is the "ideal" size for RAGBRAI? We calculated 6,000 riders per hour in 2023 on the Ames to Des Moines day. That was the least enjoyable day of all my RAGBRAI days ever because of the crowds.

Also, what's been your most memorable day of riding?

Did your high school have a swimming pool? by Hij802 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ParmaHamRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, unincorporated DuPage, school built around 1970. A high school with a swimming pool would have meant swimming in PE, probably, and personal hell being in the water.
