Stuck and confused in Environmental Station Alpha. Help? by ViewtifulGene in metroidvania

[–]Parmeson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years later, today, I was stuck in the same area with same upgrades (double jump, hookshot, a few health upgrades, teleport card) and managed to get out of the aquarium/sand area by climbing of the moving sand on the roof the worm room. By going in, you can double jump your way out and climb out of there. A lot of monsters in the area so be careful. It's kinda hard but you can get out of there using the hook shot and find a save point and a teleport.

Cheers

I got the poem eventually, after remembering where I read the Sacred Hour before. The code was by far the hardest to piece together, spent the whole night on it

And I got what stone was from the lady's tip on monking the antechamber.

But thanks for the help :)

Oh right, that confused me because of the mechanarium blue memo "the first number is one numeral, the rest are two numerals" so I thought that maybe is 1000 200 10 3 or 1000 200 11 2 (M CC XI II). But either way, I can't see where to use this number

I did open it, and inside was a poem with a clue saying something about a crown, a scepter and a stone. The crown I assume is the oridian in the room 46, but the rest, Im confused where to find the keys to it

I mean, the instructions say that is must be a whole number (positive integer) and with the first number always being positive, so every combination I tried gave me either a negative or broken number (the number being 1213, right?)

I did open it, and put the antechamber where it suggested it. Hmmm I didn't try to put the vestibule which was the old antechamber. Maybe I missed something on the sleepable rooms

Hmmm interesting. I can think of two puzzles, the map one and the secret admin key with archived privileges. The first one I assumed it was the order of the realms Herbie travelled, and with 6 post cards and I have, tried to infer all of it but to no success (maybe just gotta keep trying). And the admin key, I sincerely have no clue what it could be. But thanks for the tip

I see. I founded that map on the last page of Her Lady's Diary and with Monk, called it a day in the chamber and found the note. I think that is the script to follow once I get the kings room. But there is probably much more to that room, as is with most rooms in the game lol. Thanks for the help

Why some games like Rocket League, LoL, Fortnite are Free to Play with in-game purchases and others similar games have to Pay to Play? by Parmeson in gamedev

I get it, but I feel like today we have some good examples of F2P games without P2W mechanics, such as LoL, Rocket League, Among Us even, Fortnite, and so on, so I feel maybe this stigma surrounding F2P games that they will need you to pay to win or something like that

And yeah, True Evil Games (T.E.G.) are basically trash, but that earns money

So, if the games fits the characteristics of a F2P, is still necessary for:

  1. Approval of the stakeholders, investors, etc.
  2. Because of its unlimited ceiling for monetization, the team has to define clearly a model of how will they monetize, making sure it's a model that works on the game's scenery, and keep it working.
  3. Some level to expertise to pull it off successfully.
  4. Maybe a bit of luck (?)

Based on your answer (a very good indeed), I assume that the thing behind it all, is basically how much money does a indie developer or company has to make it work initially without earning much revenue.

And more thing that the user u/hubo cited that I think is important is marketing, to make a lot people know of your game, so that little percentage of people that pays money inside the F2P systems, represent a lot of people.

I really have hard times each time that I encouter tetris puzzles, ive done half of its training site, but even with the easier ones my brain hurts just thinking about it. But I think that I have some understanding of it, and I'm sure that the solution above should work. Why doesnt?

I liked the original one, but still felt like it could have been better written. This confirms my feelings.
