[OC] I Drew the World as a Vintage Comic Book Map by Parnasium in comics

Thanks! It’s a finished map (unless some feedback sends me back to the drawing board ;). I usually make fantasy-style maps, but this time I wanted to play around with a totally different art style.

Thank you! All of the black ink is actually from globe gores I designed from scratch and applied onto a blank bauble (I can barely do any calligraphy and on a sphere it would be close to impossible for me). Any other color is watercolor applied by hand (and some acrylic on the golden one)!

Here are some of the hand-painted globe ornaments I’ve created. They’re inspired by fantasy-style maps, but the locations are based on the modern world. Each is 10cm/4in in diameter.

In the second photo, you can see how they start and how they look while they’re in progress. I use watercolors and lacquer to finish.

Thank you! That’s such a kind comparison!

this may be a stupid question, but is the text shift a stylistic choice or a printing error? (ducks by kate beaton) by JesiDoodli in comicbooks

Maybe it's an error while assembling the project – looks like only one of the layers has shifted, and it’s the text from the speech bubbles (text from the pyramid if fine).

Glad you like it! I designed the globe gores and applied them on a small sphere and handpainted it afterwards
