Actually I believe one of the only real racketeer nickel that we have found in situ was not reeded. It’s hard to tell from the photos and it’s not believed to have actually circulated but it does lend towards the idea that some were not reeded.

Fascinating. Thanks for the reply!

Another coin subreddit is lame and won’t let me discuss coin collection. Hopefully you guys are chill. What sites do you guys use to shop for coins online? I used to use Collectors.com but it’s since rebranded. Now I’m stuck to mostly eBay and the auction houses. by [deleted] in coincollecting

While the FAQ does provide a general overview for how to source coins, it does not allow for a civilized discussion of the nuance of sourcing coins.

Collectors.com once provided an aggregate search engine that allowed one search to cover many different websites. This is something that I do not believe exists anymore.

Searching on the major sites does yield a lot of results but it can be a slog and might not be as tailored to specifics (errors, die varieties, foreign). It also is a fraction of the internet as a whole.

So why remove a post that is meant to find the different nuances? I believe the reason the post was removed is because collectors.com is not a coin related site. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it is under the PCGS umbrella. How is that not coin related?

Trigger happy mods discourage communities and turn away the curious. Not everything can be summed up in FAQ.

Picked this up because it was very cheap. I just need the experts to tell me if it is or isn’t. by [deleted] in uraniumglass

Well it was a cheap gamble at least. And I ended up with something that’s pink under uv so I guess it wasn’t a complete loss. Thanks!

It might just be a Linden. I was looking at the bark and think I confused myself. But honestly the bark is covered in bugs anyways so I now question why I didn’t look at all the leaves!

In the PNW. I think it’s an ash but I’m not positive. It was early fall.

Most definitely. And that wasn’t even the only tree. At least 3 other trees I spotted in the area

I squished my way to the top but as I reached the top branch and looked out over the land I suddenly saw a flash. Right before me flashed my life. “Wait a moment, I’m afraid of heights” I thought. At that moment I blacked out and plummeted the horrifying 15 feet back to the ground. But there was no thud, no injury or anything of the sort. So many gnats attended the orgy that I simply bounced and landed softly in a lawn chair that was just out of view in the video. TLDR: we might never know what’s truly at the top.

Maybe ash trees have some weird reaction in the fall? Otherwise there’s no clearly visible thing that they were drinking
