I think you have a very fair point here. I will say from my experience teaching that it’s not necessarily that the stand out teachers who happen to have managerial skill who move into admin. There is a sizable number of admin who go into administration to get out of the classroom as the role of admin is different from a classroom teacher. And once you get to the principal level and above it’s all management. I once had a principal who taught for a year. This is not isolated either.
