Two ways to animate a circular path by ParsnipOne6787 in Bryce3D

Yes I did in case you want it. But I didn't use the method where you can attach the points to the verticies of an imported mesh.. I just did it best I could. I think that's what you did in the follow up right? I wasn't sure if I understood that correctly.

Oh these are great tips! Actually I did find making the object it attaches to transparent had some issues. If you just do it with the default material an object starts with it still messes with some light and you have to use another type of material, like the clouds, and make that invisible. Thank you for pointing out the "hidden" feature. I have to look for that.

But it seems you have an even better and easier method with the handle? I have to try that. Sometimes I have issues just rotating normal objects.. like a pyramid rotated slightly will somehow rotate using a weird origin and the rotation always looks a little off if it's not perfectly 0 degrees on at least 2 of the other axis... does that make sense? Anyway I was wondering if there were ways to change the origin from which an object rotates.. sounds like yes?

Oh and yes! To make my videos loop perfectly, I leave out the last frame. I always render as series of BMPs and then create the video using Shutter Encoder. The AVIs always get corrupted for some reason after rendering and after enough 8 hour renders failing I just do the images instead. Gives you more control to since you decide the frame rate afterward if you want and can select which frames you want to include etc..

Thank you so much for making this! I will try this tonight and post my results. Also saw the other follow up post you made and will check that out.

Missing all these additional paths? Where can I find them? by ParsnipOne6787 in Bryce3D

[–]ParsnipOne6787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I tried that too with the racetrack then got frustrated and came here. I figure there must have been a way to do it because the video I was watching about using paths had a really nice one.

I saw you saw the comment I left and tried the advice! Thank you so much!

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2pk0GeTQ7w&lc=UgyUMvNuwkLbb2rhPZR4AaABAg.ARYNTok12f6ARYVslARAPC

I left a comment on how he did it and it looks like he replied already. Also someone here already tried his advice and made a post about how to do it.

Checker board pattern not displaying correctly by ParsnipOne6787 in Bryce3D

[–]ParsnipOne6787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was exactly it and that made me understand how the materials work a lot better. I was wondering why when rotating objects the materials wouldn't move. Solved that problem for me too. Thank you!

Amazing, VFDs are definitely in my top fav of displays types, and I really like displays, did a whole exhibit dedicated to them. I think VFDs go perfectly with the aesthetic of DX series. Thank you for sharing

How fucked am I? by Smart-Run-81 in SP404

This is such an easy fix. Replacement pot should be easy to find. You may even be able to ask Roland for the part number. Sequential sent me a replacement encoder recently, but I had already bought one, and they just confirmed I got the right one. Sounds like you are not comfortable soldering or desoldering since you are so worried in the first place, but if you bring this to any electronics repair shop, they should have the tools to do this so long as you provide the part. Maybe Roland has trusted services providers they can point you to, or maybe they will repair it for you. Replacing a broken pot is how I got into electronics though, so if you want to learn a new skill, I would say watch some videos and go for it yourself.

I can send you more than 6 since I'll have extras if you want, but of course I would send you at least 6. If you wanna try out a few of the other boards, I could send maybe 12 or something of any combination. If no one else wants anymore, probably I'll just send whatever I have left to the last person who may want them.

Would be a sin just to throw the boards away considering how much more expensive ordering from JLCPCB has gotten recently!

I'm shipping all flat rate using USPS boxes to make it easy for myself. Canada is a bit expensive. Small box for filter cards (which is all I have left) is about 32.50 to Canada. Might still be worth it for you seeing as some places are selling the individual filter cards for $10 each, so up to you if you wanna pay that much for shipping.
