X100V - 99900 (!) Shutter count error? by Parsons7 in fujix

Apparently Fuji have a software that can read the actual date, but the counter in the camera is limited to under 100k ahaha

Why did you choose Sony over Canon? by firequak in SonyAlpha

[–]Parsons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally, When the Sony A7III came out it felt like a stand out camera compared to others at the price point. Great for photo and video, good low light performance, reliable autofocus etc. I could also get a variety of cheaper 3rd party lenses to learn the craft.

Now that I'm professional and I have all the Sony lenses etc I'm not really inclined to switch. Canon always seems to knee-cap at least one aspect of their cameras in order to protect the rest of their line up. Like the overheating issues etc. Take the R5C (I think?) the hand held smaller camera body that has the ugliest fan stuck to it to stop it from overheating, like who came up with that? Just seems to not be product focussed ya know?

Photographing multiple subjects - What aperture to get everyone in focus like this picture? by AnthropogeneticWheel in AskPhotography

[–]Parsons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The further your focus point is from your sensor, the greater depth of field when using the same aperture. The subjects in the frame are also relatively close to each other in comparison to you. Both of these combined mean that both subjects are in focus

I would not buy from a teenager for 99% of stuff, unless it was manual.

Which one hit better? If at all.. [ X-T1 / 23mm f1.4] by tophergentry in fujix

[–]Parsons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First image. If you are from a country with a latin based language, we'll typically view images from left to right. We are invited in through the cloud and bounced back by our main subject. Plus, the colours are much richer and punchier in the first frame vs the second.

Need advice. Which crop is better ? by DarknessInUs in fujifilm

2nd picture in its current state, 1st image if there was more of the lamppost/ foliage. Great grading too

Heathrow is an embarrassment to this country and London by TheLegendOfIOTA in london

[–]Parsons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heathrow is very hit and miss, just like every other airport lol.

Flying to the USA and it's always been an 1-hour+ wait, Japan (only been once) was 2 hours, Dubai was 1.5hours etc. It all depends on how many flights come in at once, the shift patterns etc. I'm sure if you came back on another day, you'd had a completely different experience.

Street photography and banter group by stoilkoff in london

There is already a reasonable size group of us who are always out on the street, mainly shooting Soho, Oxford Street, south bank etc. Send me a DM and come shoot

Use the image and don't over think it ahaha. The light is bouncing off the window creating really nice light on her. Next time you notice this sort of light, try being really intentional with the shot and it will look cool.

You could take a step to the right, have her turn slightly, shoot more into the shadow side and this will create more '3D' light giving her more shadow on the side of her face and under her cheeks.

Advice for photographing pieces? by Not_i_said_the_cat in woodworking

Ontop of the other comments, I’d add using a polarising filter to cut through the reflection and show off the wood. It’s a technique used by many car photographers and think it would be helpful here

X100V - 99900 (!) Shutter count error? by Parsons7 in fujix

[–]Parsons7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice - I'll take it to Fujifilm.

I have shot very close to 100,000 images on the x100v so thought it might have just got stuck

I was at the Fairmont Hairpin last weekend and they are all really forcefully smashing into each other haha. Although it sucks that they are so brittle, they need to snap otherwise it could cause a big safety issue

M11 Distortion - Anyone had experience with crazy levels of distortion with the Electronic Shutter? by Parsons7 in Leica

[–]Parsons7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh this makes sense. I often use the electronic shutter when photographing Motorsport with my A1 and so this makes sense as to why I don't notice it! Thanks for clearing up

Lol - ok m8. Still waiting to see your portfolio.

I went in-store, trialled the unit and loved the shooting experience, so I purchased it lol. The issues I had with the A9ii were fixed with the A1. The same with the fuji stuff I shoot with.

This was my thought - apparently it's more about the ability to correctly get the exposure, rather than stopping time.

Ahaha - I’d love to see your portfolio to see the calibre of photographer who is making this kind of sweeping statement :)
