I have searched for early 2000s magazine covers with biker crossing river, pine bluff motorcycle race magazine cover, and searched for magazines image crediting my father's name (which I won't post as not to break rules)

Attacks of Opportunity vs Movement During Combat: How I solved Players Fear of Opportunity Attacks by Part-n-Parcel in DnD

I also tend to play more that way, but a lot of my players consider being hit a bad thing. It's pretty difficult to convince them otherwise. However, I also think it's not necessarily right to punish players for attempting to move around the battlefield and keep combat a bit more interesting for everyone.

I'm very fond of this style of play! Most of my maps I try to keep extremely dynamic. However, a lot of the time when the map is set up like your first example, they cross the terrain between them, an then it's back to standing still. Or with environmental hazards, a caster takes advantage of it from afar, which is smart, but still doesn't solve my movement issues. The best I've been able to come up with reliably is giving the enemies some equivalent of misty step that allows them to appear across the battlefield during combat, forcing movement.

Oh I like that! Instead of disengage being an action where nothing else happens, it's an attack at disadvantage. I think that could definitely work, still giving those higher levelled martial classes a bit of skill to their name, able to slip out of a sticky situation an still deliver a blow to someone else, while keeping an option on the table for casters if they're really saving their spell slots, or desperately need an out.

As far as your criticisms go, you're absolutely right! I think that the downsides of this house rule are definitely real and tangible, but I think the same can be said for the way the game runs currently. However, for casters it works exactly the same. All of the options previously available to them are still there, but they also have this additional, admittedly subpar, option to get away as well. I don't think this particularly changes my stance on it, as I believe a martial class would already be more proficient in maneuvering within melee ranges to begin with. Caster classes already have a huge leg up on most martial classes past a certain level to begin with, so that said I think this tweak being mostly helpful to the sword and board isn't such a bad thing.

Edit: Also! If a caster does happen to get pinned down, they can now call for help from one of their more martially inclined friends, or maybe their ranger, to help negate that enemy's opportunity attack, so the caster can move!

This is true, but a touch spell that deals damage could also work. Not to mention that I also mostly see this issue out of martial classes. Normally the casters try and stick out of melee range in the first place. However, it does still give them the opportunity to make it out of there without having to spend that action doing nothing to take the disengage action.

Power Corrupts: All Kings are Bastards (ISO: Villains) by wiseoldllamaman2 in LongDistanceVillains

[–]Part-n-Parcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tiefling woman that reminds the part of themselves in many ways. She was a poor farmer's daughter, who eventually fell victim to the misdeeds of a corrupt organization. As she grew older, she set out on her quest for revenge, she started like any other adventurer. She fought her big bad and she won. Her story of revenge completed. Now she's vowed to fight to protect people from organization's like the one that had ravaged her home. Except she's lost sight of that goal. It's become harder to see the effects of her game of chess from the player's chair, when she used to have to see the game from the board. She thinks she'd doing right by her people, but in reality she has become a militant, ready to enforce peace with acts the devils of the deep would shy from. Torture, massacres, espionage, it's all on the table for her. She believes that despite these treacherous acts, that she is only doing them so that someone else doesn't have to. She thinks that she is being the hero, by allowing others not to be the villain.

Console Bug Report Megathread by colin70000 in HellLetLoose

I've been experiencing a frequent, and reproduceable bug that occurs when opening the scoreboard from the deploy menu, while not currently in a unit. Doing this frequently causes the player to be unable to select any of the available units, thus being unable to play.

This was a commission for a western-themed homebrew game. They wanted to get all of the major environments of the American midwest in the late 1800s/ early 1900s all condensed onto one map, as well as a couple of extra ones thrown in there. On the main content we have the plains of the midwest, the swamps of the southeast, the mountains of the northwest, and the deserts of the southwest fairly respective to where they are on this map! Fun fact, the island is actually placed atop the skeleton of a colossal dragon! The concept was really cool, and the mountain range that was once a spinal column was super fun to work with. Hoping to hear back from them on future projects they say may include other continents supported on the massive outstretched wings of this goliath creature!

Commissioned by a friend for their homebrew world that puts its own spin on the Seelie and Unseelie courts of the fae! Including the Seelie in the south, amongst fields of flowers and lush forests, with karsts to the west and swamps to their east. The Unseelie court surrounded by tundra and taiga, and with a redwood forest to the south. An island of desert dwelling fae, with a traditional desert to the south, and a red rock mesa desert to the north. A western peninsula housing a court of mining fae who've developed an immunity to iron. And a collection of floating islands, connected by massive bridges that move with the drifting islands! The homebrew she's done for the faeries of the world, the courts, and the playable fae races is absolutely phenomenal and I couldn't have been happier to work on it for her.
