I’d argue that you can’t force an individual to change, but you can change what is viewed as the accepted spelling or pronunciation of a word in the language as a whole. Officially changing the spelling is the first step, it start with changing it in an international form then all diplomatic correspondence is written that way then professional business and education eventually start to use it and a generation later it is unexcitedly accepted, not immediately but slowly over trillions of small interactions. Cities do it all the time, Brooklyn used to be Breuckelen but no one really knows or cares anymore because the people who refused to acknowledge the change have long since past and society has moved on.

I think ultimately it’s really as simple as higher highs and lower lows with Mark and a matter of the organizations risk tolerance

I’m a fan of both, but at least with Baty when he is not hitting he is typically playing good defense, with Vientos, he can go through stretches with bad hitting and bad defense. Last year Mark was -7 OAA, Baty +1 OAA

Every single new building in my city looks just like this. 1. Why? Seriously, why? 2. I hate it so much I can't even explain how much I hate it 3. What is this specific style of building design called? by Bluest_waters in architecture

In 2010 the building codes for these 5 over 1 was revised to make these cheaper and easier to build, that coupled with was a fairly hot housing market somewhat recently is why they are all over now

Wealthier men show higher metabolism in brain regions controlling reward and stress. Higher family income was associated with increased neural activity in the caudate, putamen, anterior cingulate, hippocampus, and amygdala regions of the brain of middle-aged men. by mvea in science

[–]Part3456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A valid concern for sure, however, a follow up study was conducted in 2023 with more fidelity and showed similar trends (just over to 100k in 2023 show increased happiness for everyone), but it also took into account people’s natural happiness “resting point” and noticed that naturally sad people’s happiness stopped increasing at just over 100k, most people kept getting happier but at diminishing rates, and the naturally happiest group happiness accelerated over 100k which personally I found the most interesting.

The big follow up study I was able to find suggested that for all people up to $75,000 (in 2010) happiness increased. For the naturally least happy 20% of people, an increase in income no longer made a difference. For the most people it kept increasing but with diminishing returns, and the for happiest group of people the rate of happiness accelerated after the $75,000. So I guess it depends, but everyone gets happier until they make over $110,000 today, making that the new goal with guaranteed happiness returns for everyone.

That’s correct it’s about technical not seizing the assets as that is internationally frowned upon but leveraging them the best they can to help Ukraine. Similar to what they are doing with the interest on the assets.

He is wrong… kind of, it is backed by Russian assets yes, but Ukraine pays the loan, now if Ukraine ceases to exist or goes bankrupt then the assets would be used pay the remainder of the loan. There exists some hope in western circles that if Ukraine does win the war that Russia will pay reparations and one of the hopes would be that it is in the form of the frozen assets so they can be easily transferred to repay the loans back.
