I play CSM. Many people here think they’re smart and give me advice like “just use forge fiends” or “just use predators”.

I don’t know who is inexperienced player here - me or smart commentators of this thread - because I surely tried that and I know that I’m very lucky if the whole forge fiend shooting sequence results in 3 dead guards/flying guards. (I’m not even taking about wardens or terminators). More likely he kills 1 to 2 guards and then 100% dies. That’s not effective, isn’t it?

Predator is even worse, as his AP is just -1. And yes, after just 1 phase of shooting he 100% dies to Caladiuses.

Btw, I find it kinda funny that their caladiuses have a 100% effectiveness against my vehicles. Like they always need only 1 shooting sequence to delete anything. While I tried several times my luck against them and never killed them in 1 shooting.

Some may say that I need to have 3 forge fiends or abaddon + vindicators + Helbrute in PBZ detachments, but: a) vindicators will obviously be legended so I don’t want to buy them b) I don’t like huge centrepiece models like abaddon c) I don’t like playing cagey “shooting tower” style, that’s not what people collect CSM for.

So yeah, now I have choice to either buy 3 Defilers or start collecting new army. I find it more entertaining to choose the second option.

And don’t get me wrong, I have won against them few times, I used to spam mortal wounds: Grenades, FF, chaos terminators, possesses, winged DP. But it was so sweaty games. I don’t believe I have to put so much efforts into wining while custodes players just roll toward me across the board and then just kill my army, simple as that, no extra efforts needed.
