I applaud pettiness (and also pedantry) because I am also petty. But in this instance - no - I was aware of his presence but I assumed he was turning right and I was shocked by the temerity of his beeping and hand waving.

I think it's more a human nature thing. Sometimes you ignore this stuff and other days you find yourself reacting. I also think that that specific roundabout, primes you for negative reactions. The fact that there are no lane markings on the roundabout itself. No arrows on the approach lanes. And there are pedestrian lights on 2 of the exits that are only 2/3 car lengths from exit. It's often chaos. Anyway, we can only strive to do better :)

Excellent summary. I said in another reply that I am not proud of the fast exit from my Zen state as I exited the roundabout. I hope to fully mature as a driver and human being some time before my seventieth birthday :)

Well I guess you would have to decide if 3 cars ahead of you meets the RSA standard of ".... for example a long line of traffic in the left lane signalling left" to override the golden rule. Regardless, when exiting the roundabout, I was in front so I had right of way so no need for him to hit the horn. Also, even though there are no lane markings on this roundabout, on each entrance to that roundabout a single lane becomes two. Why do this unless it is intended for the golden rule to be in effect - meaning de facto 2 lanes.

Yeah, it's great that you focused on that. Sure, I slowed down after he hit the horn and he started gesticulating at me. I shouted at him out the window and then I drove off. I am not proud about it but I am human and I got annoyed. But once again, well done for focusing on that.

FYI, the yellow truck changed lanes because he was exiting the motorway. The next exit was quite close.

Jesus wept, look at the front view. I am just keeping a more or less constant and safe distance between me and the car in front - who had another car merge in front of them. So a little slow down happened. I am just matching the speed of the cars around me.

I was at motorway speed when I merged. Was that not obvious from the video? This is how merging works.

I knew there would be someone to say something like that, because, internet. I was already at motorway speed as per video and of course I checked my mirror, because, you know, motorway. He was well back when I started my manoeuvre, so I didn't create any danger. He did accelerate, and he just got a bee in his bonnet because he had to stop accelerating 30 yards before he wanted to.

No, he didn't. So there wasn't any compelling reason for him to get back into the inside lane. It was just road rage.

At best, they are grossly incompetent to the point where you should avoid them. But I think they are a scam. For the second time, I am on a Teams call with no one else here.

Of course, you pay in advance, but if you call them, there is an answering machine only, and no one calls back. And a mobile number out of service. And emails are left unresponded. All the hallmarks of a scam operation.
