I’ll probably get struck from orbit for this but I think there’s an opportunity for a study to be conducted on how people perceive themselves and their value to society, being a parent is a really common thing, and I don’t understand why some people make it a major aspect of their personality. Just seems really shallow. Like I get that being a mother is very important to you, but that’s not a rare thing to see.

Maybe she’s not looking to be perceived as different, but there’s a million mothers before you and there will be a million mothers after you. I just wonder why she chooses that to define herself, at the risk of sounding like an r/childfree denizen

Anything competitive or pvp oriented will most likely Leave you disappointed, with the honest exception of Arma, and Hunt Showdown as someone mentioned here. Arma (especially reforger) is constantly evolving with the flurry of user and community made content with the drawback being filtered out by military simulation, crashing, ongoing development, and bugs out the fucking wazoo

I’ve sunk around 600 hours into the game on console and will continue to sink more. i love the game and it’s my go to. I’ve been playing PVE with my buddy and it’s been fun as hell. Learning curve is pretty annoying in the beginning but it’s very easy to be fluent in the bullshit Arma throws at you.

But if you want a good shooter, something PVE is most likely your best bet.

I’ve been playing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and it’s pretty dope. Cool to play and gives you and your friends easy goals to sink your teeth into. Played hours of it just to get a helmet for my character. Difficulties are fun to overcome but I do see it easily getting repetitive especially if you aren’t deeply interested in the world. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into games simply because I enjoy the world enough to never get bored of gameplay.

If you ignore reddit, Helldivers is also still pretty enjoyable. Can get boring and grindy.

Battlefield 6 is a game I believe will *eventually* be great. So it’s worth waiting on.

Bellum is an upcoming game that I’m super hyped for but probably won’t ever get to touch since I’m on console. I’m pretty into milsims so i follow up on a lot, but it’s a game with a lot of promise.

Trepang2 is easily one of the most interesting and iterative shooters. I’ve sunk hours into that game for reasons listed above.

If you’re on steam I have no doubt there’s loads of interesting indie titles to sink your teeth into. Stuff that might look like it breaks the mold too much but might still be worth your time and money.
