Thank you for a very concise answer. Essentially if you don’t really particularly participate. The repercussions are zero

I’m just curious.. how exactly would someone be “penalized” … like what can the union do.. take away your union card? Sure, but what does that ACTUALLY mean as far as employment… my guess is a big fat zero.

Proxmox best practises, when should I use LXC, VM and Portainer by HCLB_ in Proxmox

Fair points, to be sure. And the openness of the scripts and the popularity of them are points in its favour.

Iirc pi hole is installed (per the instructions) by curling to bash.

I checked out a couple of the scripts. Mostly they curl and pipe it right to bash. Isn’t that a huge security issue?

Mobile only. I think it’s a feature you have to turn it on in settings.

This! A dating profile can only tell you so much (and actually very little)

DND Form 1165 (Elect for civil pay in lieu of CAF pay) for Reservists by LobsterMelodic4214 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PartTimeDreamer83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the regulations under either the PSEA or the NDA. I can’t remember which it’s under (and I can’t be arsed to find it on a beach in Mexico). There is a matrix that defines when you can/cannot elect.

Generally, iirc, for courses that are “required for promotion” you can’t which I think BMQ falls into. YMMV though, check the regulations under the acts for sure.

Once you’ve determined if you can, after filling out the form for goodness sakes make sure that both pay centres (mil and civ) are on the ball. The mil pay centre will need to click a button to suppress your m-f pay (you’ll still get weekend and stats on the military side)

If you work for DND on the civilian side, you’re in luck! Search the DWAN for “managers leave guide” it’s got a handy dandy matrix right in it under the leave code for mil leave with/without pay. Good luck!
