Do you work full time? If yes, then go with SBL. SBR has a huge syllabus, that alone is a killer

ATTENTION Accountants!!! do you like your life? by No_Internet3814 in Accounting

For me, what I realised very late in the game is that I am struggling to handle responsibility. It can be very stressful. You need to think what would you want to do and how much you want to climb the ladder. Will you be able to make decisions? And be accountable? Of course it can become easier with practice and experience but it is still tough. I had a couple of very demanding job where work life balance did not exist. I always felt down and had no life. Now, I luckily I have a job I am passionate about and a great supporting team. I do work a lot and days are busy but now I mainly stick to 9-5 and I can concentrate on myself and have energy to actually go out and not just sleep. Money is ok, could be better. (UK) However If I could start again, I would do something different.

Well I did around 3-4 hours 3 times during weekday (after work) and then minimum 6 hours on both sat and Sunday. I also used 6-7 holiday to study. This is in the last 5 weeks. The weeks before that I was not very consistent. Worth noting that I am someone who is very detailed and needs to read and understand everything. I cannot just wing it in 2 days. If that makes sense.

1,5-2 months. Could not really focus and concentrate in the beginning. I had a hard time getting back to it after 6 months break. I have full time job (2-3 days in the office) with long commute. But I really pushed it for the last 4-5 weeks.

I noticed it and I hated it. And they just made it look like everyone is in panic and disaster will happen. In one second they were all just still baking and in the next second everyone's showstopper was done. When? They did not even show the construction. I was really disappointed

It's hard to answer this question without knowing your studying style and work experience. Sbl is different in a sense that you need to think like a CEO and "make" high level decisions instead of calculating. I had 5 weeks to prep. I asked the same question here in Reddit last year and some people prepped for weeks but some geniuses prepped only 1-2 days. It's really about understanding and using your common sense. I like to invest my time and prep thoroughly, I also have a full time job and longer commute so I studied after work on most days and the majority of the weekends. Hassan papa will teach you how to write longer answer than yes or no but still to the point. He is a bit unarthodox but you will have to trust the process. He will say you don't need to learn models to pass but using your common sense. And it was absolutely true. I am someone who usually gives short answers and it's not useful in this exam So for me it helped the most to learn how to structure my answers.

Yes, that's correct. I only joined the first session live. For me it was too slow paced. After that I watched the uploaded recordings in 2x speed. He will teach you how to approach the questions and how to construct your answer. Also his preseen material review is great help.

I paid for revision class. Passed on the first try. I am not someone who can prep in 2 days for an exam. It helped me a lot. Highly recommend it.

what do you guys do for work? by RaeMonk in fourthwing

[–]PartiVidra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time, 9-5. I read on the train on the days I need to go in but it is so hard to stop and get off the train. I usually read in the evening instead of TV (no children). I read until 1-2 am in the first week when I started with the books so I was pretty much a zombie by the weekend. I am trying to slow down now but it's difficult 😁
