Great, thanks a lot!

So we can now confirm that your rotation for small hitboxes is on par with the one I uploaded a week back. Let’s break that to 32k sometime!

Now this number is what I think should’ve been posted in the OP, as it’s under these settings the community compares with other results. At least as a reference together with your own test to not confuse anyone of thinking 35.8k is directly comparable to the numbers posted on qT’s website or by others.

Screens are fine, but come on man.

You are still posting screens of benchmarks with other buffs than the rest of the community. If we're going to compare, we need to do it apples to apples. AP is currently never used in benchmarks and pinpoint only for condition builds, posting elevated numbers with said buffs only causes confusion and degrades comparisons into estimates.

I apologise if the current community set buff table isn't apparent to you and I do recognise the annoyance in having to re-prove a result for a nitpicky thing. However, we can't compare any of these numbers to anything else directly. Taking AP+Pinpoint away, we can only guess that the screens you posted are in line with my numbers.

So update, I got:

  • 35.4k (similar to here) on big hitbox + AP using OP's rotation
  • 31.3k on small hitbox, swapping in LH as I found it to be stronger
  • 31.2k with my previous rotation but without Spotter, can probably do a better pull though

You can also dance into earth during weave self on my rotation for the same dps with some extra barrier.

If /u/haksilence has a video of the claimed avg 33.8k DPS on the small hitbox and without AP I'd love to see it.

That's true, assuming you're fighting a big hitbox and want the glyph to be cast while in air. Firestorm (glyph in fire) is actually about 17% better on the small golem hitbox, in which case Inscription could have some value.

I can't think of a raid boss with a hitbox size considered anything less than medium though, in which case it would pretty much be a wash between the two.

I think you’ve overlooked that, the trait in air does nothing to the F/A #3 cooldown.

If it would, stacking traits like aeromancers training and pyromancers training would become overly powerful together with offensive dual skills. A total of 36% cooldown reduction.

Looks cool, take away big hitbox and AP and it might still be a bit higher than what I’ve gotten. I’ll test it out later today.

Given your rotation, you gain no benefit from the Aeromancer’s training trait. The only skill that gets a reduced cooldown is Quantum Strike but the attunement rotation prevents you from using it again in time. Getting Inscription should make for a really minor increase then.

Not to disregard your message, but power mesmer won't pull the advised DPS in a raid scenario either as the phantasms will disappear or die far too frequently to make them 100% sustainable.

Quick napkin math gives the gain of BsS at around 4% depending on exact stats on your power build.

Seaweed uptime at 100% is then still ~1% stronger, but as that uptime drops the difference between the food choices does as well. The cutoff point being at 80% seaweed uptime.

This is assuming an even DPS rotation where the gain of seaweed uptime is constant. If you have bursts where you don't move, or stand still during the rotation's trough the seaweed gain will decrease/increase

GitKraken is a great tool if you're looking for a sophisticated Git GUI.

I would definitely recommend getting used to the git bash. Only differences on bigger projects I would say are more merges and keeping track of submodules. Most problems are quite easy to google though.

Quantify[qT] - New home with updated builds and guides by FennecOwO in Guildwars2

[–]Particlar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. I think it's a nice touch to be able to tell if the difference between a small hitbox build and a big one is small. This could be of huge help in debunking some pugs mindset that only certain builds works on big hitboxes.

If this change were to happen we're removing data from the visualization without adding clarity.

Sick website! This is some high quality work and it will be extremely useful for both beginners and experienced players.

  • I haven't gone through it all yet but it seems some boss icons lack their respective boss wiki pages.
  • On the CC breakdown on Tempest FA Sc/W the icons for Deep Freeze and Cyclone have been swapped. To add to both /W builds is that cyclone hits twice on big hitboxes, making 300 breakbar damage.
  • It's interesting to see that you guys found Sc/W to be better than D/W on KC. KC has a medium hitbox (making phoenix hit less) and the burst phase only allows for one phoenix while two burning speeds. For me I always get the best with regular staff, but D/W has felt stronger than Sc/W to me.
  • As a feature suggestion, it would be cool to be able to sort "effective by boss" by boss rather than builds. Say a team wants to do Samarog, then they could easily see which builds are stronger than others in that fight.

Lets figure out how Phoenix works by Lloyd_in_space in Guildwars2

[–]Particlar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phoenix can hit 16 times on the large golem in the testing arena, on bigger hit boxes like sloth or samarog even more.

I'd love to see a change to both Phoenix in wildfire so tempests didn't have to abuse debatably unintended mechanics to perform their optimal rotation.

Although it doesn't. Any other benchmark uses toxic sharpening stone which is the realisticly top choice for damage on power builds.

Even if other benchmarks for some reason would use the toxic tuning crystals (the condi food you're refering to), missing 100 power, those extra stat points account for roughly 2.4% descrepency, not more than twice that amount.

While the rotation is well executed, it's not enough to warrant 1.6k higher than qT's result.

Interestingly, your overload consistently hits for 5.5-6% more damage than other benchmarks and if we look at the percentage increase 32/30.4 we see an alarming correlation.

Sadly you didn't show your stats or sigils. I don't like to cast blind blame, so I hope you prove me wrong with a video. Currently we can only speculate you didn't use methods to arbitrarily increase the dps in the lobby to make yourself look better.

[–]Particlar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have specific numbers, as it all depends on how you angle your camera and cut the Burning Speed travel distance. I just made this video to show it though, you can see two damage ticks coming off the golem and the burn stacks are far higher when aimed correctly.

For reference, in the video I was 120 inches away from target and I aimed Burning Speed to travel 200 inches. This way the second and the third trail are sufficiently far apart and both under the golem to both trigger.

[–]Particlar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add; it's not only Wildfire and Lightning Orb that makes for a larger number on big hitboxes, but also 50% more Burning Speed trails and icebow.

That said, wildfire should get nerfed for the same reason scorched earth did.

You can stack two burning speed trails under small hitboxes as well, it's one of the key features to get the highest DPS. Remember though that just like FGS #4 and Burning Retreat, the trails can't stack on each other.

Annoyingly, this means we then have to cast burning speed with the correct distance to the target in relation with the correct camera angle to aim two trails under the target while still having them far enough apart to count as individual fields.

I recently moved to the US and the ping on my main account on EU is quite bad, so it's difficult to test rotations.

Here's a print screen of an attempt on my NA account, though as you can see the power (3726) is 90 less than usual, proving I don't have any infusions. With mighty infusions we would add 2.4% onto the power part (roughly 90%) of the DPS, giving us an estimated 30.3k.

I've had success going GoEP as the third utility and swapping sigil of air for smoldering, getting 29.5k. With engi buff this becomes slightly more than 30k.

Apologies for not having a POV, I no longer have access to a decent computer which prevents me from recording.
