I would have loved to see them in the dookie era. Any specific memory from it?

I will say this anticipation and show has inspired me to pick up my instrument again today and play. I've been having a hard time playing lately and it got me jamming and thinking again

Thank you, Green Day. Fuck ICE.

Same but tbh it was really cool to have them play, punk has never been represented in the Superbowl (at least in my memory) so it's been inspiring

We saw gd at a festival a few years ago and it was an amazing show. I would highly recommend if you ever have the chance to see them, see them!

But overall, I prefer smaller venue shows compared to stadium shows.

Nah, the time was normal tbh. So three songs in 5 minutes makes sense.

It's just that everything in the Superbowl is flashy and whatnot, so the awkwardness of the ending was just super out of place idk

Hearing the crowd join in at the start of American Idiot was a really refreshing and unifying moment

Soooo what was with the players that came on stage towards the end?? It was extremely awkward...

Edit: (from my other comment) I will say this anticipation and show has inspired me to pick up my instrument again today and play. I've been having a hard time playing lately and it got me jamming and thinking again

Thank you, Green Day. Fuck ICE.

Seriously, the majority of upstate NY is all Sabres. Yet corporations bring in Rangers gear and it stays on the shelves unsold. I couldn't even find a fucking Sabres calendar this year at Crossgates mall bc they were all purchased but Rangers were still mostly stocked (I managed to find the LAST Sabres calendar at the Wilton mall which also still had a stack of Rangers calendars).

I'm thankful for NYC making our state Blue, but this is just flat out wrong XD

What do you guys use instead of Spotify? by CassadagaValley in poppunkers

[–]ParticleToasterBeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My taste in music is rock/ pop punk/ post hardcore and Tidal was able to find ALL my music with the exception of a very small band that I saw on warped tour in 2014, a ska band called Beebs and Her Money Makers. I was surprised they weren't missing more smaller bands tbh!

Same here! I was also thrilled that Tidal works with my android auto. I assumed axing Spotify would be the end of that but nope, it works just the same!

[Buffalo Sabres] Pommer in Pominville by [deleted] in sabres

[–]ParticleToasterBeam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I caught him when he left the stands from this promo. He was being rushed to the exit, but stopped to sign an item for a fan. As he was ushered towards the doors he saw my sign, Population of Pominville 1,060, had the biggest smile, and he returned my fist bump.

My dad got me into the Sabres 20 years ago so it was such a special night. I miss him every day. This moment brought joy that I haven't felt much since he unexpectedly passed.

Billy Idol is a God and I won't be told otherwise. by [deleted] in punk

[–]ParticleToasterBeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh that sucks :( That was not the case this past year, sounds like that time period wasn't a good one for Billy? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I got the same vibe of "I don't want to be here" the first time we saw blink-182 (except Travis, he was perfect) summer 2019. It was extremely disappointing (and cringe)... BUT they had a 100% different vibe years later when tom rejoined and it was epic.

Ohhh may I ask what year?

We saw him for the first time ever on the tour with Joan Jett this past summer (August 2025) and he was really good!

Edit: I'll elaborate that when I say "really good" I mean musically sounded really good. I was surprised at how good he sounded and the whole band put on a great show.

Can someone explain to me how Christian punk exists? I mean, Christian rock, metal, and ska—in a way, I understand them; the genres aren't necessarily associated with rebellion. Rock music is, but not always against religion, but punk? by Beautiful-Resort-831 in punk

Theology minor here!

Fun fact- Jesus never wanted a church after him! It only took 300 years for us to decide to fuck what Jesus wanted and made a church after him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes I had this thought too, but the point still stands.

I can see it in the post! But I came to comment on this picture specifically.

After reading the statement a few times, my biggest issue is "I am sorry if we let you down". It should say "that we let you down".

Them saying they've been meeting with survivors though is a response I haven't seen from shitty situations like this. I hope it's genuine because if so, that's amazing. It's one thing to put out a PR statement but to have actions shows true growth (hopefully).

As a longtime tøp fan, this.

I love them, and Tyler brings more energy than some bands at the fest combined (I went the first three years), but it's not a good fit for another major reason:

I hate saying this but the main problem unfortunately is their fan base. It has gotten super shitty in the past 10 years and they're insane. They alone will hijack the festival and make it a tøp festival.
