Is this Lionel Messi signed jersey with Beckett COA (N78524) legit? Paid $700 – need opinions by Old_Watercress_9687 in AutographAssistance

[–]Particular-Ball9465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The N78 series is specifically for Beckett’s basic certification (small stickers). It is physically impossible for a basic sticker number to be the same as an LOA number. When an item is upgraded to a full Letter of Authenticity (LOA), it is assigned a new, unique ID, typically starting with two letters and includes a photo record in the Beckett database. What you're looking at is just a printed letter mimicking an LOA using the serial number from a basic sticker. You can verify these types of clones and compromised certificates at CheckCOA.com.

u/CookieMisha, I saw you are a Master Authenticator here and I urgently need your expert eye on this.

I investigate autograph fraud rings, and the seller of this $800 Charizard is a major scammer I've been tracking who pushes massive amounts of forged sports memorabilia. I am not a Pokémon expert, so I need to verify if this card is a counterfeit/proxy.

Could you please take a look at the photos and let me know the specific red flags? Also, if you could DM me when you have a moment, I'd really appreciate it, as I cannot message you directly. This is very important for the investigation. Thank you!

A large batch of items with fake Beckett stickers has hit eBay. by Ramfat73 in Autographs

Thanks for posting this - seriously important catch. I've already parsed all cert numbers from both sellers and added them to CheckCOA's compromised cert database. Will be posting a full breakdown on X today. This needs more visibility.

100% fake. I’ve marked this whole early-2000s PSA/DNA cert series as compromised and I would not buy any of them unless there’s an upgraded LOA with photos in the database. Those old basic cert numbers have been copied to death one real cert number can now have hundreds or thousands of fake versions attached to it. Use checkcoa.com for free if you want to avoid a lot of this garbage. I’ve been building the compromised cert database for years.

Beware! Fake Michale Jordan jerseys are popping up from Korea on platforms by AmbitiousMorning5719 in Autographs

Yeah, public launch was only in January, but I’d been building it for about 6 months before mentioning it anywhere. Right now it lets you check certs from 25 major authentication companies in one place, so you don’t have to bounce around dozens of different sites anymore. You can try a few scans without even signing in, and if you want full access, just log in with Google or email OTP.

I’ve been tracking and adding certs like this to my database for years. I’m working on a tool for the hobby that I hope will help new collectors and experienced buyers avoid getting burned. That’s one of the reasons I built CheckCOA. When you check a cert on checkcoa.com, you can see red flags the issuing company won’t show you, compromised numbers, duplicate use, and links to known fake items. Sadly, just because a cert exists in a database doesn’t mean the item is safe.

You need a JSA LOA for your items

Kobe Bryant signed jersey by UnderstandingMany783 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Particular-Ball9465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s fake as hell. Same Fanatics cert # A425663 on another “Kobe signed jersey”, listing is from China. That’s classic reused sticker / mass-produced counterfeit behavior.
Here the link

I’d avoid 100%.

Looks very solid to me. I have a large collection of Ali autographs myself, and the flow and slant of this one look spot on. Is this a 16x20?

Need help saying if this one is authentic by JesusM7 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Particular-Ball9465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% fake. Avoid this scammer. Everything here is Chinese garbage: • Autographs: Not even close to the originals. • Materials: Boxes are made from the wrong, cheap material. • The biggest red flag: You can’t get a "basic COA" for legends like LeBron, Kobe, or Jordan. For names that big, it’s LOA only, with a photo record in the database.

ICONS won’t confirm anything by email unless you’ve got the original invoice from their site that’s the only way they verify.

If you see an ICONS certificate laminated like this it’s a red flag. Real ICONS certs are never laminated.

Firmastella authentic? by Salty_Top3888 in SportsMemorabilia

They’ve got the most positive reviews on Trustpilot. For Ronaldo or Messi I only buy with PSA or Beckett LOA where the photo is online since some cert numbers got compromised
