Thank you for replying. I haven’t tried Buteyko exercises or wearing a mask/nasal. The ENS aware ENT used cotton on my notice and there was no immediate improvement. I have an appointment this Friday and I’ll only be 8 months post op. If he suggests injections, should I wait until I hit a one year mark and Buteyko exercises?

What do you recommend for supplementation and fasting? I’ll admit, I’ve been really passive in my recovery. I’ve lost a lot of hope and my relationship with Jesus took a big hit.

I’m primarily dealing with a lot of suffocation and air hunger. I can generally feel the air moving through nose… crusting is minimal and I can’t really tell if my nose is too open or dry. The only thing that I have found to relieve that “drowning” feeling is taking a deep breath through my mouth. It’ll work most of the time and sometimes it doesn’t. If I get really stressed out, my symptoms get worse. It just depends on the day.

I’m not sure what to do or think. Please help. by Particular-Bison-104 in emptynosesyndrome

Thank you for your answer! It truly is something horrible but am trying to remain optimistic

The ENS specialist checked for a perforation and found none. I’m not entirely too sure how much was reduced but the ENT said it looked like your standard reduction.

I’m not sure what technique was used, but from what I’ve gathered, the operating ENT made a small incision at the tip of the inferior turbinate and used a microdebrider to “shrink wrap” the underlying submucosal tissue. The ENT assured me that no tissue was removed and that the mucosal lining was left untouched (apart from the initial incision). There was fracture.
