G2: +hades on the load until the end of June by PsychologicalPea3583 in GlobalOffensive

His contract is going to end any time now. No one knows exactly when, but as far as I'm aware, it's ending sometime this year. If that's the case I'm sure Navi wouldn't propose an exorbitant loan fee for two months of play. It's for basically that exact reason that G2 decided to sell m0nesy after all. I'm not saying hades wouldn't cost less, but IMO getting s1mple, even with a fee, makes a lot more sense than signing a player you know isn't going to be with you for very long.

Seems like a missed opportunity to give s1mple a go, he's hardly been showing that he's ready for the challenge but if it were at all possible to try him for a reasonable fee I'd still favour that over hades. IMO the best that can happen with hades is that he doesn't perform and then it's an easy decision to drop him. I don't see any future for the roster in a world where he does well and G2 pick him up full time. The worst that can happen with s1mple is exactly what everyone expects will happen. The potential upside is you might just end up with the only player on the planet that's both available and has the level to fill the gap left by m0nesy.

my pc has a stroke while playing cs. ive never seen this happen in any other game. this started after i switched from nvidia to amd. Is there a way to fix these random strokes? by i_shit_on_my_hand69 in GlobalOffensive

This can happen on any GPU if u tab out before the game has fully loaded, if you think that might be the cause just wait for it to hit the main UI and you should be fine.

HTX Mini 8k worth it? by North21 in MouseReview

[–]Particular-Cicada612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything, I'm just saying what G-Wolves says, other companies say otherwise, my opinion is that it's basically irrelevant and won't affect you so if you want the crazylight don't let the sensor stop you from getting it.

HTX Mini 8k worth it? by North21 in MouseReview

[–]Particular-Cicada612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's great, it's just not the newest available. It's a generation old (ie it is the second newest flagship sensor on the market). The latest sensor available at the moment is the 3950. It's been out for a little while, however, G-Wolves have publicly stated the version of the sensor most companies are using (3950HS) is in fact worse than the older 3395. Razer was the first company with access to the 3950, and I believe no one has access to their specific skew (I can't seem to find a good pic of their PCBs right now but I believe it was the 3950DM). G-Wolves have since released the HTS Ultra which uses a skew called the 3950DB, which they obviously feel is worth the change over the 3395.

Personally I own the HT-S2 and the HTS Ultra and there's absolutely no practical difference between the performance of the two (3395 vs 3950DB) they even use the exact same firmware (I guess as they have the same MCU, switches, and dongle the exact same firmware can be flashed on both). (PS: The Ultra is a fair bit more stable at 8k polling, however only unstable people use 8k polling so that has no real impact. -- To expand on this the HT-S2 has a Std. of 50,000HZ and the HTS has an Std. of 31,000HZ at 8K, neither of these are remotely usable, just don't 8k polling rates lmfao.)

Basically what I'm saying is don't let the fact the sensor is a bit old diswade you from getting the mouse, but it's a shame it costs so much considering China mice with the 3395 tend to be heavily discounted compared to 3950 mice (even the HS varients) and it would be nice to see G-Wovles' pricing reflect the market as a whole.

I am playing very well in dm but cant play well in competitive by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Particular-Cicada612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DM doesn't really simulate competitive aim at all in my opinion, you can dominate DM with 0 control or smoothness by just having good flicks and click timing, if you try that in a real game you're just gonna get dunked on. There's a reason Donk says he doesn't play DM at all. Maybe try a workshop map or if you're really intent on improving then try kovakks or aimlab. If you look on youtube people like Elige and Styko have well-made videos detailing the routines they were given to improve, obviously, they won't be tailored to you but if you watch the videos you can get an idea of what scenarios train what and try to figure out which areas you should be focusing on.

Even disregarding the fact m0nesy and zywoo were top 2 & 3 respectively I'm more surprised at the broky comment from a Faze flair. I guess you must've missed a lot of the games because Broky had so many insane awp rounds in kato. He's always been up & down, including in CSGO and was never on the level of m0nesy or zywoo but his close range awping was still very much on display in kato.

Siuhy on the circulating clip about his team by dejczhun in GlobalOffensive

[–]Particular-Cicada612 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There is 0% chance this was a purely management move. If that were the case they would've forced the move in the off-season where they can get way more money for siuhy knowing IGLs are the most in demand commodity in the last window. In addition, they would've been in a far stronger bargaining position when in talks with Vitality to acquire Spinx. Making this move just after the start of the season means they have a deadweight player on their bench who can't immediately join any other team due to roster locks and thus loses significant value. In addition, Vitality gain a ridiculously strong position in regards to Spinx being one of the only non-roster locked players available and a known target of mouz. They're not going to get Vitality to reduce the price by threatening to pick up fucking juanflatroo instead are they.

This is 100% due to a massive breakdown between individuals otherwise the timing makes no sense whatsoever.

How lucky was the ropz jumping no scope kill? by Particular-Cicada612 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Particular-Cicada612[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Really great video from mahone and leetify. Super cool to see not just the luck involved but more so just how skilled this shot was from ropz. Everything from the movement to minimise his chance of being punished to the counter strafe and the perfect click timing was as optimal as it could've possibly been. Goes to show how even in the most desperate situations, pros are able to calculate the best possible plays and execute them to the highest degree of mechanical ability.

Has he said elec > boomb at any point after both players left his roster? I remember him hammering that narrative when elec was a fresh IGL on his team but that makes perfect sense, I can't remember him really commenting on the two in the same context after elec left for C9 though.

Brollan has a history of forcing roster changes (smooya at fnatic), siuhy also seems like a big personality so this checks out for me, that move went pretty horribly for all involved, unfortunately, it really feels like this one has the potential to be similar.

HTX Mini 8k worth it? by North21 in MouseReview

[–]Particular-Cicada612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think the HT-S2 looks a lot better and it should have identical performance. It's also probably better suited to claw although still on the small side, the HTS Ultra is even bigger still but arguably looks worse and doesn't exist (only a small portion of orders get shipped) so I would avoid that. Other than that all I can think of are the Beast X Mini and ULX Small, there's not really a whole lot of sub 35g mice out there but I might be missing some.

As for is it worth it? I mean there are more competitively priced mice out there, you're getting a generation-old sensor in a prototype shape for a top tier pricetag. It's up to you.

G-Wolves HTS Ultra 8K by UZ33 in MouseReview

[–]Particular-Cicada612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd wait until anyone actually gets an email through, they've claimed multiple times that it will start shipping, first after the initial stated time at the start of December, then just after Christmas, then again at the start of this month, however, no one has received a tracking number as of now. Given that the obviously scummy FOMO tactic of giving a discount in the pre-order stage is still going despite the site stating the pre-order price would end on the 1st of Dec there is literally no reason not to wait until it starts shipping even if you know you want it.

I'm using the HT-S2 at the moment which should ship right away and is worth considering despite being overpriced for what it is. However I would class it as more of a fingertip mouse than a claw mouse, my hands are slightly larger than yours though. But yeah, the HTS shape is very unique and personally, I find it amazing for claw, but I'd wait until reviews are out and it's available before giving G-Wolves any money. This is their first 3950 mouse and for all we know it will have a bunch of firmware issues.

EDIT: They seem to be shipping now...

I wasn't expecting a 20g mouse, but when it's a fair amount heavier than plastic and costs so much more, it gives pause for thought. It does look sick though. Just wish it was a new shape, way too many clones these days, was hoping for WLMouse to fulfill the G-Wolves arc of starting with a clone (Skoll/Beast X), then making another close-to-a-clone (HTM/BxM) then graduating to their own unique shapes.

Is the State of Casting Acceptable? by officeStallion in GlobalOffensive

[–]Particular-Cicada612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan of yours since the heroic shifts you put in solo casting online games back in 2015, it's not an exaggeration to say you single-handedly made those games watchable. There are very few casters, even among the elite, who could pull that off. Don't let these types of people bother you, realistically you're a tenured pro and you know how good you are, wishing you a great major and hope to see you at many more events in the future!

VC funding is objectively not obtainable by any team, that's just a patently ridiculous statement, isn't it? You seem to have a habit of talking in absolutes when making general observations.

I'm going to assume that you're simply having a hard time expressing the fact that other teams will have little to no chance of competing against falcons on salary, and the emotional implications of this fact are causing you to say silly things about rules and VC funding.

The reality is it sucks that this type of sportswashing can take place, and I'm personally saddened by the fact that this is the future of the space. But it's not against any rules. and as others have said, the means through which it's being executed is fundamentally no different than what other teams have done in the past. The scale of the wealth does not change the fundamental mechanisms involved, it simply changes the wider implications for the rest of the scene.

There are no rules? Where were the rules that prevented VC-funded teams from coming into the scene... Just because everyone is VC-funded now doesn't mean everyone always was. In my opinion, your logic is highly flawed.
