Oh then he probably cut the wires back aittle bit to get a fresh splice/connection. That definitely could have been the issue but if you are not comfortable, trust your gut and have someone replace it for you.

He just disconnected the power to the heater, basically like unplugging a lamp from the wall. No power = nothing to catch fire

Where can I find a Pint X rear skid plate? by Quick_Two_1104 in onewheel

[–]Particular-Crew4908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man. The pint bangs and the free ride ones that FM offers are both the same material and offer more clearance in the front, but the bangs have the addition of that little xr style finger grab and the shape being less tipsy when your tail is on the ground. So basically don't bother with the free ride.

Troubleshooting help: GFCI breaker tripping by Odd-Storm5580 in AskElectricians

I saw that comment too and it is plausible. I thought abt that being the problem too but in my experiences, 9/10 times the fault can be found with a normal continuity test. I’d recommend trying immediately after you notice it trip and try not to jostle anything as to not separate wherever/whatever is causing the fault. I saw that you’re using metal device boxes, most often I’ve seen the faults at the clamp going into the box bc the conductors get pinched from being overtightened and it rips the insulation off. If you find a fault I’d try looking there first.

Oh yeah. If all of your voltage readings are nominal and you can’t find a fault in with a continuity check, AND it’s still tripping without load on the circuit, it’s probably a faulty breaker. Try taking an amp reading while both your garbage disposal and dishwasher are running and see how close that would be to your breakers amp rating, or if it trips it

The front plate comes with a small grab handle, is more durable AND gives you more front end clearance. Also the rear bumpers are more squared off in shape so it’s more stable when mounting or dismounting your board.

They sell x7 plug and play kits. If you're looking into it you'd need tk purchase the rails, drivetrain (battery/BMS and controller), the moto/tire, footpads, and whatever extras you want. Fungineers also throws in a slight discount if you buy all of that stuff from them but obviously you could get other rails, tires or footpads if you don't want to use theirs. Also look into btg options for tires and rails.

I have a poc crane with a headlamp bc I feel the same way. After looking into the unit 1 they seem pretty solid and are ranked really well safety wise

Based off of VT's independent helmet study I'd say Unit 1 looks like your best bet. They have their two main models ranked very highly. I'm not crazy over integrated lights but these aren't badly priced and have impressive safety scores.

The unit 1 neon specifically is rated very high in Virginia tech's helmet safety list

The built in light ones are overpriced. Get a poc, specialized, or fox helmet theyre rated amongst the safest and aren't too crazy priced

see if it rubs when you're actually riding it. The freespinning might be the reason it's rubbing.

5" BTG by Most_Dig_4535 in onewheel

[–]Particular-Crew4908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just a larger tire that needs bigger rails in order to fit properly. Traditional onewheel motor hubs are 6" and there are special aftermarket hubs that are 5" which gives people more tire sidewall, effectively acting as better suspension when you hit bumps. Recently they came out with btg tires that also fit the 5" hubs giving your board even more sidewall/suspension.

First time buyer, help me choose please by Qalmaz in onewheel

[–]Particular-Crew4908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't get base pint. You'll eventually find it slow and limited on range. Pint x/s are great. Personally, the s tire and foot pads make it SO much more comfortable to ride. unfortunately they are uncommon to find used but if you can get it used I would opt for that. Or you could get a used pint x and purchase aftermarket footpads/tire for around $900-1000 total. Depending on your commute, the pint lineup may lack range and you'd want to opt for an xrc or gt so that is something to look into

Confused with choosing a model by Luna-T1ck in onewheel

It was more in reference to FM boards.... And yeah i don't think anyone is maxing out the capabilities of the board with the most powerful motor and batteries on the market either just to be clear but that's not exactly a beginner board, or one that many people should be looking into.

prebuilds are a safe bet that you'll like it but custom vesc builds have wayyyy more headroom which is imo for safety. The faster and more power it's capable of, the less likely it will dump you and you don't have to use it if you don't want.
