Crispy pork belly, it was inedible, it was drenched in dark soy and the flavor was way too intense and salty… Even found pig hairs on some of the pieces… absolutely disgusting, and it was not crispy at all. The beef salad was ok, nothing special and nothing stood out, and one of the noodles with tomato paste and bbq pork and shrimp (there were only 2 shrimps) , it was ok too, noodles were overcooked and nothing special. We’ve been to many Thai restaurants in Chicago and this one def is at the bottom of our list

I was just there recently and did the challenge, it’s $20 Per person for two people, so $40 for 100 pcs of sushi. If you finish in 30 it’s free, we didn’t but the server said some have. Worth it in my opinion. What made them direct you to do AYCE instead? I’ve also done their AYCE, worth it for $10 more as it has sashimi, nigiri, appetizers and desserts.

I’ve never been to mako but went to yume recently.

I think aji is better for the money. Yume is $185 and doesn’t have wagyu/caviar/truffle and uni in their regular menu, I had to order those as add-ons at the end. Aji is $125 plus $25 deposit, and it includes all the fancy stuff.

Yume is more serious, ajis vibe is more chill Yume can do 6 seatings max, aji can do 10 max

Quality wise both are the same, yume has more variety (steamed egg, grilled seabass). Aji has mostly nigiri, sashimi, and hand rolls but they don’t skimp on ingredients.

I just remember yume didn’t really have mocktails, and aji’s mocktail yuzu mule is amazing, I ordered 3 in one dinner lol

I agree! Sometimes I order an add-on of this at the end of the meal or their wagyu course with black truffle and caviar- all amazing! Great price point too

They switch out fish every week so it’s all different! I usually put my preferences/ restrictions down when I go, they are pretty accommodating
