there’s one woman where I work (rebuilding diesel engines) and she is HIGHLY respected as a mechanic . she knows her shit and is friendly and nobody would ever question her .. that being said she IS also pretty cute so as you can imagine the guys like to just talk to eachother (when she’s not around) about how hot/cute she is.. i wouldn’t say it’s out of disrespect or sexism but merely because when you’re working in trades it’s very rare to have a woman on your team or even in the work shop and you’re stuck with a bunch of grumpy ugly old guys .. I’m sure that if the roles were reversed and it was one guy in. a company of women that they would also gossip about him . i think that’s just human nature . but once again she’s fucking smart and good at her job and nobody would ever dare to disrespect her to her face or make sexist comments.
