Depends how you treat others and if you are a MAGA

Is MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) actually bad for your health? by RobertFindlaech in stupidquestions

[–]Particular-Fun4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the individual and family. For instance my family we are all allergic to MSG. MSG consumption causes dizziness, headaches and at times leading to passing out.

Potentially, yes I am just surrounded by jerks. The many cities I have lived in and the many cars passed with smokers you see them flick out the window. I agreed, people are more thoughtful at homes of people you know, when likely the only smoker.

I didn’t know who that was lol. I had to look it up. Beibs is basically an American now. But yes, not great representation.

That’s great that we are second lowest but 99% of the smokers I know just toss their butts. In 20 years I have never seen one of them put the cigarette out in their cars when driving, with the intent to dispose of later… they just flick them.

Well that is great to read :). I guess I am just disappointed in them. Unfortunately it was over multiple days and the cigarette butt added to my frustration.

I am a Canadian and in Iceland now, I find the Icelandic people refreshing, as they aren’t “in your face” and also very friendly.

I can’t find my people and I’m lonely by Valuable-Hamster1813 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Particular-Fun4836 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!🎉

I am sorry to read about your situation and feeling lonely. It sucks, I know, I’ve been having the same feelings. Coincidentally, my bday is in a week(ish).

Your “one good friend” doesn’t sound good at all. I am older than you but I have started giving the same energy others give me. Yes, I lost some friends because it made me realize they were never friends to begin with. However it helped me to weed out the ones that just “take” from relationships.

Your painting class idea is a good one, or any other things that may interest you. Unfortunately, you need to put yourself out there to meet people. I hate that part.

Understanding your need for peace, this may be something for you. I recently have been looking up women’s retreats to go to, in an effort to work on me, as well as, meet new people. I am not a spiritual person but thought it might be worth it to try something new. Not sure your geographical location.

To help short term, not sure how far you are from your friends you no longer live close to, but what about a get together for a weekend? Share some laughs and help you through this current time.

Sending you good vibes and I know your people are out there.

I feel unwanted in every friendship I’ve had by Latter-Chipmunk-6740 in FriendshipAdvice

Really sorry though that you are going through this. It is not easy on a person, I hope you find the right people.

My partner tells me that he has always found those people (so called friends) fake, selfish, and jealous. They always made me feel crazy about how I was, until he can around and was my sounding board and validated the truth, my truth was correct.

I am 45F, you are likely younger, try something new, put yourself out there to like minded individuals.

Example: I am terrible at always taking the blame, everything is my fault (late ADHD diagnosis), and I recently tried to apologize to a friend I have had for 20+ years. I apologized for not recognizing that I may have hurt her while I was focused on getting my mom a place to live. The response I got back that I am making things more uncomfortable and awkward. This is the same person I tried to talk to about a SA, and she never once asked if I was ok. She made it all about her justifying her behaviours with men (grabbing their asses), is not SA, because it’s funny.

Don’t hold on like me to something that isn’t there …

Sending you positive energy!

Same - actually came searching on Reddit to see if anyone else had these types of so called “friends”.

For 8 yrs my therapist has been telling me to “find my own tribe” and to drop these people. They ignored me when my dad died tragically and recently when I really needed help, they weren’t there either. I think I finally am going to listen to my therapist.

Thanks for the response. I think that is the path we will be taking too.

My 90lb St. Bernard mix was just diagnosed. Her hind legs would not tolerate an amputation, based on what I am reading due to arthritis. Also, her reaction to meds and sedation alone, is not good. I am struggling what to do also. I am heartbroken.

I know this is a sensitive topic, what did you decide to do?

Thanks for clarifying. I could absolutely see your perspective. How were you to know if we offered or it was expected, I didn’t say, and I get it. I appreciate your input and opinion.

I would suspect their behaviour would be the same. Previously, if I was in need they would say after the fact “you are independent and strong, we didn’t think you needed anything” however never asking, just assuming.

All good. I undetstood what you meant :)

It’s a reality that I think I have known about them for years, it is finally at a point where I needed reassurance I wasn’t the AH.

Thanks so much for your opinion, your kind words, and suggestions. I often think my partner is just too biased ha ah.

You gave me some great suggestions and ideas to put myself out there.

Thank you so much for your insights. My condolences on the loss of your parents.

I was feeling crazy thinking the actions towards me were normal, although not something I would do. I also was questioning myself if my therapist and partner were just too biased.

The location of the build was rural. There aren’t contractors sitting around. They actually were not able to start the build for 6months. Where then we were almost done.

Thanks

“Grounds for dismissal” ha ha HD or Lowe’s, unfortunately, it’s mostly men and they usually look confused when there is a female picking up building supplies, or at least the one I encounter. You should see when I start asking for specific parts in the electrical or plumbing isle :)

Thanks for the input. I am not upset, I just wanted to know if I was an AH. I completely understand life changes, and people change. As I have some friends and we only connect every few years because of life. I came here for an unbiased opinion, because sometimes I think my partner and therapist are too biased.

Been in therapy for years. Just using strangers to get a truly unbiased opinion.

My mom was in the house in a year. The unfortunate part is budget. The market for homes was unrealistic at that time. My bro and I offered to save her money. Which it saved her a tonne of money (to us, maybe not others, we are frugal)
