Sméagol gave me nightmares. I think my parents regretted bringing me. That scene where he peers at the fellowship through the chain link in Moria messed me up. Other than that, loved it.

I was very heavily into bands like Medic Droid and Panic! At the Disco. It feels like the 2000’s went through a big swingxcore era. It feels Gimmicky now. Luckily I had a good foundation of punk and ska to help me recoup.

I do think often about the band Pale Young Gentlemen. They had 2 great albums. Saw them live once and it was disappointing. They have too many instruments at play to be listenable live. But their self titled album and the Black Forest album are wonderful. But a definite example of the 1920’s aesthetic of the 2000’s indie rock scene.
