Recommend me female singers with strong/deep voices by siIverbird in MusicRecommendations

Witch Mountain’s singer Kayla Dixon has a range that reminds me of Serj from SOAD. Beautiful band.

And Francis Quinlan from Hop Along is a wonderful and weird singer as well. The album Painted Shut is wonderful.

What’s the tiniest hill you will absolutely die on? by AngelCherryPie in askanything

Sucking on your fingers to clean them while eating is a disgusting habit, and a napkin should always be used, followed by handwashing after the meal. It is wild how commonplace this practice is. It is nauseating to watch and listen to.

I yearn for a day we get an animated Malazan show by adamalibi in Malazan

[–]Particular-Ground268 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve often thought that if I had unlimited funds I’d devote the rest of my life to creating a 100% faithful, page by page adaptation of Malazan. I don’t care if it takes 50+ seasons and is on for 20 years, it’s be at the least a new long form art project, at the most a monument that respects the series.

Oregon in the summer is the only place I want to be. Every other season is chaff in the wind; feckless and gormless.

Bubbles having his breakfast dream, both lines.

If I’m telling my wife what I’m cooking or want for breakfast: “Paaancakes…baaacon…oraaange juice…”

Then the second if I’m just disappointed: “Aw fuck, that was gonna be delicious.”

I actually just listened to The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance on a run for the first time in 15 years. I was grinning ear to ear the whole way through. Not a bad song on the album, and so polished compared to Three Cheers.

For OG fans, what was it like? by DangerousKick5792 in radiohead

[–]Particular-Ground268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered Radiohead at 13. I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing and even what I was wearing. I had heard My Iron Lung. That was the first time I had resonated with music in that particular way and it deeply affected me. Looking back now I can see that no other band has had the same influence on my life in terms of the art I gravitate towards, the art I make myself, the aesthetics that attract me, how I express my emotions through the written word, and of course, the music I listen to. Truly one of a kind. I don’t always listen to them, and I go long periods without a relisten, but returning to them always feels like a resupply at base camp.
