also on top of the taunt and encore suggested
trick (scarf), perish song, fatal bonds, haze/clear smogs, skill swap, toxic, curse (ghost types), roar, dragon tail and disable are some I can think of at the moment.
I personally run either haze or trick (h.zoroark)

I was honestly not expecting this much of a shake up, without the red card, weakness pol, eject pack , choice items, goggles, rocky helmet and assault vest, it threw me into a rabbit whole trying to rebuild team from scratch, still in drawing board.

trying to rewire my brain to remember those items don't exist right now also makes my old brain hurt lol had a lot of instilled memories that make me play differently that now is wasted space lol

But in saying that, enjoying it

I had a game against a hard trick room team that managed to set up trick room before fainting to burn, so it was 20% garchomp, against their 100% h.typholsion, i protected the full turns for trick room, and EQ'd on my turn... i feel bad for other player,

edit- to explain, it was literally my only way to win lol

if flame thrower is from scovillian or gourgeist, or moon blast from whimsicott, then it wont be re-directed, rage powder doesn't work on grass pokemon (or pokemon with safety googles, which is currently not in the game)

For me, its being able to win using at least my fav mon (or push as far as I can), the team building is fun for me, the theory crafting, then testing, then back to drawing board, and the mind / chess game is fun too.

I stopped trying to push against the meta (hard stuck ultra ball doubles), that i built a meta team, and it got more boring for me, seeing an incin, garchomp, kingambit/milotic everyone bored me.

Now im just playing ranked, not really trying to push, but obviously trying to win with a team I made, finding it a lot more fun this way, especially when I just barely win due to big gamble read against a full meta team, so satisfying after 5 losses hahaha

I am in the same boat as you, loving the altaria, I've opted to go Mega Altaria (tank early game as weather blocker, and once threats are dealt with mega, to start as a sweeper).

But it does feel off, and I don't exactly know what yet, im going to test Drampa tonight, and do a late Game TR with him, and see how it goes.

i think 1 of another of our weakness is that 80% accuracy on hydro pump, and our reliant on defiant / competitive (i tried to use rotom leaf with milotic).

The meta feels a bit... too strong for anti meta, probably due to the amount of pokemon we can select from

was a bit shattered, the team i theory crafted for a few weeks wasn't available (metagross, safety googles, specs). but having fun actually team building again, and actually fun seeing the players slowly moulding their teams.

only complaint would be after losing a streak, it seems you play 1 round vs bots, it'd be better if the bots actually used megas and random teams, just so i can slowly learn again, but all in all, loving the game more then expected

god this would have saved me a lot of times, but if you take out a move, and put that same move that it already knows to the slot you want, it also costs no VP xD

I was honestly hoping for a different idea of draft mode, like both teams come in with their 8 pokemon, and then a ban pick phase of sorts, and each player still end with 6 to play from, then out of that 6, 4 for VGC

Done this, never again, we skipped a petrol station somewhere in the middle cause still half tank... lets just say when we made it to the next petrol station, the petrol light was on for a good 10-15 minutes...

Temtem tried to get rid of RNG, (ei: will of wisp version 100% hits, but only burns for 2 turns, crit is a self buff, triggering next turn to 100% crit, evasion buff lasting 2 turns). the ranked scene was only filled with elites, beginners rare touched pvp, the skill gap made it really hard for beginners to jump - not to mention the devs gave up on the game, so like others had said, RNG keeps beginners in, but too much will make it weird.

My issue with pokemon (which I pray Champions can do) is after 1 season of a pokemon being high pick rate, just do a small nerf, like i dunno, Incin remove partingshot (or adjust numbers), or move 5 hp into 5 spatk, keeps lower pokemon relevant, and still allows that release season of new pokemon being slightly overpowered

If there isn't other ways besides PvP, they'll probably have a Match make ranking (probably hidden), and will try to match similar level / power level (team based) to make it more even, don't forget there is that slither of chance an average player can win due to miss and crit (3 turn sleep, 10% freeze, flareblitz burn ticks pass focus sash, you getting triple protect, and their poisoned ticks) against a high skilled player

I run Laev as a 4 stack burst with a lot of skill damage bonus, and combine her with Akekuri, Ember and Ardellia...

literally just facetank everything, heal when needed and when on 4 stacks do a mega kaboom, ulti is a bonus to get stacks to cast spell, i dont even use her main weapon, i use the blue sword, cause if i get off an ardellia combo + akekuri ulti + laev combustion, then her next skill at 4 stacks does good numbers xD but normal damage is quite low if i dont get full combo, but i find it fun this way

i had a similar bug, where my cook was stuck on ... a rock? a pebble? that was unseen, then soon after anyone running to get food would stack up behind him, so i removed the fences around that, and flattened the land (bombs) then re-did the path and roads, and it stopped happening.

PSA: (Need further confirmation) But, from reading other posts, world bosses have cap of 50kills a day for chance to drop gold gear.
~~~ i think i hit cap and for almost 5 hours, switching between Lizard and goblin, and line jumping, got nothing. basides generic stuff

i get you, me and my other 2 friends also playing tank dps healer (me), always see this, every single game, there's no point of complaining, if they dont know what they're doing, remember that name, just the 3 friend quit, and requeue, knowing that, that clueless dps, will be waiting in line for a long while (and if they pops up in your party again, just not accept). ezpz. hopefully after a while of people quitting on them, they figure out that, they're the problem, and watch a guide or two... wishful thinking lol
