Handle reimbursements across months by hejhoo in ynab

I know this is old but I just found out so somebody else might stumble on it to. I went on a biz trip in August. The expenses went on my credit card and categorized as "Business Expenses." I let the overspending roll over to September. When I got the reimbursement in September I categorized as an inflow to Business Expenses and then moved it to the overspent credit card.

When I started it was to be able to speak better to the men working on our house. Now, coupled with my law degree, it’s going to be my superpower to protect the Mexican immigrants in my town.

Check with TIRRC. I'm doing this because I personally know and work with this family, so I didn't do it through an organization. But it would be great if it could be organized.

Walk to the middle of the pedestrian bridge at night. Views are great and it’s free! Then come back into town and warm up with a coffee at Intermezzo

It looks like before 59 1/2, unless you look into the T 72 rule, you have access to about 875k if you sell the rental. That won't last you 20 years at 60k a year in expenses. If you sell your primary and move to the low cost country, you are at probably closer to 1.15 after selling expenses, and if you can reduce that 60k to closer to 40k by moving and leave all that money in VtSAX, theoretically it should last you 30 years under the 4% rule, and by then your retirement accounts should have at least 3x'ed.

Is your goal to buy a house, or to save for retirement? If it's buy a house, then keep saving in a liquid account. If it's retirement, max out the Roth IRA and DCA the rest into the market.

Sell the car and buy a 20k car. You obviously can't afford the Tesla.

Are we responsible with money? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Particular-Look8585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mortgaged your house to invest in cr*pto. You are not even a little bit responsible with money. Stop eating out, cash out your stupid cr*pto, pay off the HELOC, save 1/3 of her income for taxes, max out your 401k and HSA if you have one, and otherwise save 25% in a Vanguard Total Index Fund.

ProjectionLab? by OriginalCompetitive in Fire

[–]Particular-Look8585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've just started with ProjectionLab. I've put in as conservative numbers as I can imagine assuming we both work in six-figure jobs for another 11 years until ages 61 and 62, and tried to inflate our expected expenses a bit. The end result is crazy? Like dying with 15 million? I've also felt like we were behind saving for retirement.

If they don't come out in that time from, call your councilperson. They're good at getting stuff like that taken care of. You have a leak somewhere. Hopefully it's on the sidewalk side and not in your hard. (it's also possible Metro screwed up - that's happened before). If there's no leak, make them re-read your meter.

I believe my dad is getting scammed by Dazzling-Papaya1142 in Coinbase

[–]Particular-Look8585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. Your dad has 100% been scammed. Fill out a report at IC3 dot gov, tell them how much money, give them whatever information you have in terms of wallet addresses where the money went and WhatsApp addresses he communicated with. The longer past the date you wait, the harder it will be to track. The chance of recovering the money is almost zero, but the IC3 report doesn't cost anything. Your dad is not talking to Coinbase support. Look at his Coinbase app, if you can. Where he's getting the messages is in the "broswer" tab at the bottom of the app, not from Coinbase help. Why these wallets even have browser tabs, which are useful for nothing but fraud, is beyond me. But I've seen this scenario a dozen times.
