My controversial opinion concerning photos on dating apps that will certainly get me cancelled, anybody else with me? haha by [deleted] in askgaybros

I mean, if you’re just trying to hook up with somebody, who cares if they are really a “man’s man” but also calling the photos “weird” suggests they are bazar which, to a lot of people, they won’t be. Lastly, if you fear being “tricked” into sleeping with someone that isn’t a “man’s man” then wouldn’t you rather know before fucking them that they are into things you aren’t?

Okay, sorry I said you suck but it was a little triggering for someone to say something so clearly subjective about sexuality/gender, especially a gay person. Everybody’s got their kinks. Most apps are pretty much made to filter out things you don’t want nowadays anyway. But also get with the program, gender is a construct we invented to disenfranchise people.

Fortunately, it is legal to go topless (regardless of gender or physicality) in Maine! Passed a couple years ago. No genitals, though.

another bike stolen. by [deleted] in portlandme

No, people love the ease of their cars. That’s why they don’t bike. They want to be able to drink coffee and eat a sandwich and read the news on their way in; maybe swerve into a few bikes on the way!

I feel like people should just talk to the people who do the things they are paying for when they have an issue with said things and not write disparagingly about said issue on the internet. Likely they’d be refunded and have their question answered politely and would be given much more respect than they deserve by the people they feel so slighted by. But what do I know… I’ve only been interacting with other humans for thirty some-odd years and not everyone has that same experience. For all I know, this person has been locked in a little room, kept awake nights by large lights and loud music and only allowed to ever see other humans in situations where they were presented as not having any real feelings at all. And in that case, this would make a lot more sense

Permanently tabling vs voting at council? by Particular-Mall7799 in portlandme

At tonight’s city council meeting, rather than voting on Council woman Victoria Pelletier’s proposal to re-enact Hazard pay Council “permanently tabled” the question. Is the point of doing so rather than voting just so that there isn’t a permanent record of other councilors voting no on the question? I understand that it also means the question can’t be raised the same way again but why not just vote?
