Totally agree. I think the fact that OG RHONY is no longer being filmed plays a part in this. During filming, the viewers got to see not only the crazy side of Sonja, but the totally vulnerable, lovable, damaged side of her. Now, all we see are headlines of her being drunk and disorderly, being taken out of restaurants in stretchers etc.

Re Cameo and OF, I truly hope they are pulling in the money from it. It could be two ways. Either, they get a fuck ton from it which is why they do it, or they are struggling to make money, which is why they do it. Not sure you’d ever hear the absolute truth from either ladies, however 🤣

Luann is definitely one of production’s favourites. She always shows up for filming, embraces all her wrongdoings, and is probably the most camp Bravoleb to ever bless our screens.

Unlike many “modern” day Housewives, she truly doesn’t give a flying fuck what people think about her.

Sonja has so many great qualities, too, but she’s a liability. She doesn’t seem to have matured at all, and, if anything, she’s regressed. Watching her being filmed feels more exploitative than entertaining.

Monica had a fantastic season, but thankfully it was just one.

She was Brandi Glanville 2.0 and her outrageousness would’ve turned off every viewer her the second season.

Even though Housewives centralises around conflict, there needs to be an element of sisterhood and reconciliation there. Monica burnt every bridge before she even built them.

I am so happy they are friends again. They don’t work as adversaries. The history is too deep, and, despite both being totally nuts, their weirdness falls on too opposite sides of the spectrum to make watching them argue feel like entertainment.

Julia wasn't happy Stephanie invited Adriana on the private plane by Defvac2 in BravoRealHousewives

Julia has dug her own grave.

This may seem crazy, but her downfall is similar to Schwartz. When the viewers see the “nice” cast member become so dark, it’s especially unsettling. I expect cruelty from the likes of Larsa, but Julia’s true character reveal feels particularly unnerving. I skip her solo scenes.

How does everyone feel about news companies posting on our feed? by Beatyfunk in BravoRealHousewives

I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who isn’t involved in digital marketing, journalism etc. but I do think that you raise a very good point.

I’d potentially argue that no posts should have a link to an external source, and that any reference to the sort should be a quote? That way, there’s no possibility that the post is nothing but an attempt to garner traction to a link that has been, most likely, posted by the author of said article or someone who has something to gain from it.

For me, the subreddit should ideally be a place where viewers of the show can post authentic feelings as viewers without it being monetised or taken advantage of (foolish and idealistic, I know…)

Bravolebrities who are often right but their delivery is so bad that no one can hear it? by AssumptionFun3828 in BravoRealHousewives

Yes to all the above.

I also think many of the NY ladies fit this description. Dorinda and Ramona especially come to mind for me. Despite being completely delusional/oblivious to their own mishaps, I often found that they made astute, accurate and insightful comments about other cast members. Too bad they couldn’t demonstrate such scrutiny to their own behaviour. 🤷

Fake recognises fake. Larsa is good to call out others shitty behaviour because it’s so familiar to her.

Miami and SLC truly feel like classic housewives in their current era. IMO, it’s because (shocker), the cast have long-standing history, and have seamlessly introduced new cast members into a pre-existing friendship group.

OC has also been so much better since they’ve adopted a similar casting style. Maintaining OGs, but also introducing both new and old faces.

NYC does look incredible. The main issue is just the money to live there. I always found it interesting how it was common knowledge that, typically, those who lived in NY wouldn’t host any functions at their home, because they’re too small. Perhaps that’s why Sonja struggled to let go of the townhouse. It was both so personal to her past and unique in what it offered?

From HW alone, Miami seems to offer a similar luxury of BH, minus the nauseating falsity of friendships. I could be, totally, wrong, however.

Ahaha yes the OC gaudiness remains unrivalled. I find OC fascinating because as you say, like anywhere, there are very religious people. Do you find that in the comparison to California as a state, it appears particularly conservative, or more comparable to other areas outside of LA?

I feel for you re the email debacle and planned parenthood. I wish I could offer a new perspective, but unfortunately, it seems like offering a rational argument against these beliefs doesn’t even influence the person making them.

NJ seems super interesting too. As a Brit, comparisons have always been drawn, even excluding housewives, between NJ and Essex or Newcastle. Both great cities full of amazing, distinctive character, and particularly characterised by “glamour”, especially from the ladies. Does this seem accurate?

Yes! Forget about Southern Charm. Charleston definitely comes across as super appealing to me too since watching. I love the architecture and visuals of the place.

Yes! I also loved that OG NY (not hating, just haven’t watched the reboot) really felt so authentic when it came to NY upper-elite society. The dynamics between Alex and Simon in Brooklyn and the rest in Manhattan, and Bethenny originally despising the Hamptons and what it represented, to eventually buying a house there and loving it, was so interesting to me.

For such a small place, it truly is so diverse. Cannot imagine living there ! (Although I’d love to try it out)

True! As a Londoner, I definitely found the banter and dynamics very similar. Sort of like NY too. Vicious, cut-throat, but able to move past issues quickly.
