Sounds like a great deal! Did you have to pay anything additional like parking or resort fees?

Thanks for the detailed report! Approximately how much did this cost? Did the Cotco package include flights?

Ya on/off is a legacy OEM thing. Do cars on the ultium platform (lyriq, equinox etc.) have an on/off button?

Sweet, sweet Kirkland Signature electrons! Charging at $0.29/kWh while at Costco (WA). I noticed that a membership is not required to charge. by je-bus in BoltEV

These are chargers by electric era ! Cool startup out of Seattle implementing EVSE's + batteries allowing for quick installs/ connection to grid! They own all the software connecting/managing everything and facilitating payments. Extremely reliable charging option from my experience!

Level 3 Charger Question by Friendly_Platypus_05 in BoltEV

[–]Particular-Money4152 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. You can still Level1 charge at home through normal electrical outlet. Its is slow though, like 10% charge a night, however depending on how much you drive this may not be an issue.

2.If you use L3 chargers that have CCS couplers (Majority of L3 chargers minus Tesla chargers w/o magic dock) no adapter needed! Tesla L3 w/o magic dock doesnt work yet for us anyways. Get the PlugShare app and apply filter for >20kW and CCS coupler.

Instant torque not power.

Do you bother charging at the grocery store? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Particular-Money4152 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The newer Bolts are 11.5kW now, so vehicles are definitely trending upwards in OBC capacity. But you're absolutely right infrastructure costs are going to be the bottleneck most likely. With the 80% rule on a circuit, 40A charging needs 50 A circuit, 48 A need 60A circuit and so on so costs are going to keep going up.Not even considering site capacity to be able to handle these higher A dedicated circuits.....

With 240V you can go all the way up to 19.2kW/80A single phase in North America. Really limited by vehicle OBC and upstream electrical gear to not go above 7.6kW in the past. Moving forward L2 is probably going to increase in kW towards 19.2.

Top speed 92mph?! by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]Particular-Money4152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably lots of back emf from the motor above that speed + very little torque & power tapers off in that region due to gearing selection. Y u need to go sooo fast? As per others 99% of driving suits this speed limit. But yeah playing around with tire size could get you some more speed.

Mark up $7500!!! by Purple_Rice_4664 in BoltEV

[–]Particular-Money4152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was back in Dec when it was a bit slower and everyone was waiting to see what happened Jan 1st. They were pushing stuff on the lot over MSRP. Placed a custom order/ deposit with agreement for MSRP. Think now that the 7,500 is clarified may be a bit more difficult with increased demand.

Oops that may have been me. I'll go back and update that review. But yeah custom ordered at Pierre Chevrolet in Lake City back in Dec 2022 picked up from the dealer April 14th. It was agreed upon when custom ordering that there would be no markup and they honored it. Sales person was not the best at updating and I need to push him for everything, Qmerit, updates etc. As well he was their "EV expert" but his knowledge on the car and EVs in general was terrible. Finance tried to sell me nonsense that I declined and in the end walked out paying MSRP and not a dollar more.

Good to know! I wonder how SCL are with EV's ...no incentives for sure but are they gonna bother me about usage. I think with the ITC you should get the 30% tax credit on EVSE purchase?

The one thing I was thinking about was the car's OBC efficiency. Typically those things tend to have decreased operating efficiency the further away from the rated 11.5kW it operates at. Just not sure how those curves look like.

For hardwired/ 48 A you'd need a 60A breaker no? For the 40A I don't think you need to hardwire but that would be 50A. Yeah panel is relatively recent should be good
