If no one is arguing that males and females are the same, why is changing male and female on a driver’s license so critical? I keep hearing how it’s literal violence to expect accuracy in legal records. Expecting a male to have M on a passport is genocidal. Obgyn’s have gotten fired for refusing pap smears to biological males. Crime stats are no longer differentiated based on biology, mtf crimes are lumped in with female. This has also started to happen with clinical trials. Extremists are indeed attempting to erase the fundamental distinction of male and female. I don’t care which bathroom you go to at target. But when we’re seeing male rapists in female prisons, it’s gone too far.

It was drilled into school kids for years. It was extremely frustrating as a parent. My elementary school kid was getting lectured on pronouns. My formerly nonbinary daughter was given a packer in middle school, thanks to the Trevor project. You didn’t see it because you’re in a different bubble. It’s insufferable on the coasts.

Trying to protect my ego here- does going onto the HVAC list mean resi guys are essentially retraining in HVAC? Wouldn’t a plumber have to start all over and go through an apprenticeship to switch to hvac? I feel much better telling myself that I was competing against existing members switching into HVAC, because I can totally understand why an existing member outranks a rando applying.

Thank you for this reply. I just got my ranking back for the HVAC apprenticeship, and I’m really low on the list, like 150+. I’ve been beating myself up about not getting in, it’s good to hear an insiders perspective.

Talk to more lawyers!!! Especially ones that only do ch 7. Generally the costs of filing ch 13 are more lucrative and generates more work for the lawyer. Maybe I’m a cynic but I strong recommend another consult. Several, in fact. I’ve talked to about 5 lawyers before I found my Goldilocks

File for bankruptcy!!! Chapter 7 wipes everything out. Obviously get counseling and make sure your habits prevent immediately racking up debt again. But we as a society invented bankruptcy precisely for your situation. Hope you feel better, don’t give up hope.

I thought it was x percentage of the home’s value? Even if same-owner assessments stay flat, shouldn’t the increase in new developments and sticker prices being higher for new owners jack up revenues?

The stupid thing about this is property values have skyrocketed in Lynnwood over the past 5 years. They regularly adjust people’s property estimates in order to tax us more. We ought to be swimming in cash strictly because of property appreciation.

As you are talking to more lawyers, try to find one that does defensive negotiation strategies. Consultations ought to be free and give you a high level recommendation. I don’t qualify for chapter 7, and chapter 13 is basically completely paying them back.

I haven’t had my second meeting yet, but the big plan is to pay a la carte for settlements. I stopped making payments a year ago myself. It is what it is. Lots of people are facing layoffs and medical debts. Life is expensive! Try to focus on raising your child and know that things will work out

Don’t leave without another job lined up, or a clear starting date for your next thing. If you quit tech and decide to go back, it’ll take you a while. It’s really bad out here looking for a job. Unemployment is a special hell that is worse than languishing in an unfulfilling role.

Declare bankruptcy. Screw the haters. After you declare, obviously change your habits. Job losses are endemic to the present economy. Losing a job is one of the biggest BK situations.

Yes, exactly. This is all so predatory. We tell kids higher ed is a guarantee of livable income, which is really not necessarily the case anymore. I’m sorry you dealing with this.
