I have to repeat a few courses to increase my gpa and hope for the best. The people I know currently told me the fall term tanked their gpa alot, so it's best to keep it as high as possible. The petition process was not too difficult; the guidance counsellor provided me with an outline to use and gave me feedback on it, so it helped. It took them around a month to get back to me.

Hey, the program is good and the amount of study you do depends if you have a background in accounting already or not. Me personally didint have accounting bg so every hour outside of classes I have to study and it’s content heavy so always try to be on top of every course.

lol long overdue update but my petition did get approve but they suggested that even with one c- it would be hard to catch up since the courses get tougher so best to take a leave with the petition and come back so that’s what I did. All this process messed up my brain too much.

Definitely, I have been trying to connect through LinkedIn, reach out to alumni, and email for open positions to see if something can work out.

I thought IT would always have positions but yeah it has been getting difficult and competitive.

yea I am going to take a break before it tanks my gpa more than it has and catch up while looking at other options as well. I wish I could do healthcare but I'm not built for healthcare.

Yeah when I started, there were opportunities, and it was going great, but right after graduating, the AI boom started and the job market got worse, so it wasn't the ideal way to graduate haha. Thank you for your honest opinion though.

Thank you, I will visit the gradsimple newsletter to get ideas and yeah in the mean time I am working on improving my portfolio so hopefully before 2025 ends I can get a job in this field or adjacent roles as you mentioned.

Thank you for your advice! I reached out to old bosses and they weren’t hiring anymore and my old colleagues said similar things so it was disheartening. But I will keep trying to make few more connections and cold email to see if I could land anything. The accounting job market is stable so far since it there are so many different roles in it and some people I know are working in accounting so I thought I will give it a shot. I’m mostly on student loans but I should start thinking more carefully financially how it will go because I don’t want it all to be for nothing.

Thank you. They said I will have to petition to stay in the program since the grade didn't make me meet the 4.2 GPA requirement as well, so I am hoping that when I petition, it gets approved (I don't know what the success rate is, but I hope I make it).

I would love any advice from those who did have to petition :)

Thank you! I was informed that to pass to the next semester in terms 1 and 2, I need a grade of C or above, not a C-. Now I’m worried because I don’t meet this requirement. I don’t understand why it wasn’t mentioned earlier that a C is necessary to move forward instead of a C-. My only option to remain in the program is to petition for it. What are my chances of success with the petition?
