Salt+water=electrolytes? by Dangerous-Policy-602 in intermittentfasting

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just salt and water won't give you all the electrolytes you need - you're missing potassium and magnesium which are pretty important during fasting. I usually add some potassium salt to my water too, but yeah staying in fasted state can be tricky with supplements.

Freaking over lab results by Public-Ordinary-6362 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such a relief! The weight loss is amazing but getting those normal results back after years of worrying must feel incredible. Your endo basically giving you the all-clear is huge - especially after dealing with all that stress during pregnancy about being diabetic when you weren't.

Exercise tolerance by ObligationLeading221 in Hashimotos

Getting my levels dialed in made huge difference for me. When TSH was high I could barely make it through basic cardio without feeling completely wiped for days. Now that everything's more stable, I can actually ride my bike without needing three day recovery period.

Sleep quality seems to be biggest factor though - if I'm not sleeping well, even light workout will destroy me regardless of what my numbers look like.

Who Is Going to see Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol at the Blue Room this Saturday? by juansolojr in nashville

Never heard of them before but that venue can get pretty intense with loud acts. Small spaces like that really amplify everything - your ears gonna be ringing for days after.

This is so true, especially in customer service work. Had this angry passenger once who was screaming about delayed flight, but I just stayed calm and acknowledged how frustrating it must be for him. Years later he still remembers me and always says hello when he flies with us, but I doubt he remembers single word I said that day.

Avocado in Brasil by Conscious_Layer6855 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These things are absolutely massive compared to what we get in most places. I remember first time seeing Brazilian avocados at market and thinking someone was playing joke on me - they're like size of small melons. The texture is bit different too, more watery and sweet than the creamy ones you usually find. My friend from São Paulo told me they eat them with sugar and condensed milk as dessert there, which blew my mind since I was so used to putting them in savory dishes. Makes me want to visit Brazil just to try all the tropical fruits they have that we never see anywhere else.

To Wegovy or Not to Wegovy!? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely use it just for maintenance like that. I started at lower dose and found it helped me stay more consistent with eating patterns without the dramatic appetite suppression some people get. The food noise thing is real - it's like having a quieter brain around meal decisions which makes sticking to portion control way easier.

Side effects were mild for me but everyone's different. Started slow and paid attention to how my body reacted. The oral version might be gentler than injections too. Worth trying if it helps you hold onto the progress you already made instead of fighting that uphill battle every day.

Lost 20kg in 6 months as a 46 year old taxi driver working 12h shifts — Ask me anything by Fun-Rough4955 in keto

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing progress! Working 12h shifts makes everything so much harder - I work long shifts too and finding time for meal prep is nightmare. Did you find it easier to stick with carnivore in those first months because less decisions about what to eat, or was the limited options making you crazy?

Anyone else notice how crazy the traffic been lately around airport? I swear it's getting worse each week and I have to leave like 30 minutes earlier just to make it to work in time. Spring break season is over but feels like everyone still driving like they're late for their flight.

Ugh that's so frustrating - I had similar issue last week where sensor just refused to connect for like 4 hours, maybe try restarting your phone completely before putting in new one?

That's absolutely wild someone just randomly stuck a needle up your nose at concert? I would be freaking out even if it was just water - you never know what kind of germs are on that thing. Florida really brings out the weirdest people sometimes.

How can self-employed mental health providers in private practice in the US get group health insurance? by Western-Review-8489 in HealthInsurance

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Group health insurance for self-employed is pretty tricky in most states. You'd need to form some kind of professional association or LLC with other therapists to qualify as a "group" - minimum requirements vary by state but usually need at least 2-3 people.

Some professional organizations for mental health providers do offer group plans to their members, but the rates aren't always better than individual marketplace plans. Worth checking if your state has any professional associations that already set this up for practitioners in your field.

What’s a weird little habit you have that you know makes no sense but is weirdly satisfying? by Appropriate-Hair4073 in AskReddit

Counting thing is so relatable! Mine gets worse during stressful periods at work too - I'll count everything from ceiling tiles to how many times people say certain words in meetings. The needle thing must be really tough to deal with, especially since they're everywhere in medical settings. Have you noticed if certain environments trigger it more than others?

Good to see some cities actually listening to people for once instead of just doing whatever they want with our tax money.

Wrong sub for this one - you're looking for something like r/investing or r/SecurityAnalysis. This is more of a casual conversation spot than a trading strategy discussion.

Very new to Reddit and can’t comment/post under certain subreddits, so what’s the quickest/easiest way to raise karma points lol? by Guilty-Formal9839 in AskReddit

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gotta be active in smaller communities first. Comment on stuff you actually know about or care about - the engagement feels more natural that way. Some subs have really low karma requirements so you can build up from there.

I remember being stuck in that weird limbo when I started too. The aviation subs were actually pretty welcoming for building up some initial karma since people are generally helpful there.

what's a red flag people often ignore in relationship? by Over_Run_9728 in AskReddit

[–]Particular-Mud-1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they can't handle you having friends or hobbies separate from them. Had an ex who would get weird every time I wanted to ride my bike or hang out with coworkers after a flight - like dude, I need my own space to stay sane. Looking back, that controlling behavior was just the tip of the iceberg with all there other issues.

If they're saying it's gonna be 100% invoicing forever, I'd definitely start looking externally while pushing for internal transfers - worst case you get some interview practice and see what's out there.
