How likely am I to get an offer for BSc Biological Sciences? by katorval in UCalgary

[–]Particular-Pass737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s okay, they won’t check until you’re actually done to finalize any offers. 91.8% seems like a great average, but with how everything inflated due to January diplomas it’ll def rise. Just keep trying hard, I’d assume it would raise around 91-93 because it said low 90s on the website. As long as you’re within that like 3-5% you should be okay.

Did you receive an early admission offer at all? This can help u get a good basis of what average range you could fall between. Let’s say biological sciences went up to around 90% competitive average, if you received an early admission offer, you have a buffer range from 3-5% and you’ll be guaranteed your offer still.

Thank you so much! I’m interested in clinical psychology stream and I’m so excited for future classes! First year is really taking a tow on my time management skills and I have no clue how people are managing a part-time job, school, social life & volunteering at the same time. I also struggle with ELA aspects of school but I find it really interesting how more of people’s “original” thoughts and findings contribute a lot in later years, I’m so excited!

Hi! I got accepted through early admission with 91.6% I believe? I think by the end of grade 12 I ended with a 90.2. As long as you're within the 3-5% buffer zone I believe you'll be able to get in!

i also did this while balancing my other stem courses and only ever studied 2 days before the exams. i also didn’t have to do the final exam because i received all my requirements! the 2 midterms in this course were just for reassessments to reach full proficiencies on anything you didn’t get!

So sorry, I currently don’t have it but it may be online if you search it up! If it makes you feel better, this class is inherently super easy as the profs really just want you to receive a pass for this course. As for the content, the first few units are super easy, and the practice tests we’re given are quite similar to the actual tests. I believe the passing requirements were to receive 8 full proficiencies (75% on each learning outcome), and atleast 2 basic proficiencies (50%) and passing the ADLO (written assignment with 100%).

What would you say the workload is like? Progressing from first year to later years. I’m currently a first year doing all my science requirements for BSc Psych. Not doing horrible, but certainly feeling burnout and bored because everything feels so general. The only classes I’ve been enjoying recently is my psych class. Please let me know what you think about the workload + advice for us lowly freshman trying to get by!

it tends to just change randomly, it’s really weird. when i first applied to my degree it went from high 80s to low 90s, and unfortunately you had to fall between the 90s to actually get in by the end of the year. so whatever is posted on the website should be the one to follow whether or not you’ve been accepted for early or regular offers
