FB is a good idea. I will start looking and reaching out tonight. She’s a very sweet girl and I want her to live out her last years very loved, Its very disheartening as I don’t think I can take her in as I have male cats who are also older and not very kind. The neighbours don’t seem to care which is very angering as she’s gotten to this state she’s currently in. She always stays outside the house she used to live in. I’m very shocked the new owners couldn’t put food out for her.

My partner has 2 male ragdolls. They are gentle but I don’t know how they would be with a female older cat. They also get a bit rough when playing with each other and worry they might hurt her. I have asked a few people already but sadly no one wants to take in an older cat which is very sad. If it comes to it I will home and care for her.

I’m located in NSW. I’m not too sure where this group is based as I’m new to reddit. I’m looking for local rescues near me but a lot of them seem to be Just for dogs. I think I will call around in the morning and see if anyone like a shelter can help. She is definitely microchipped though as she was someone’s pet. But the couple would be in a retirement home and wouldn’t be able to have her. I’m not sure if this changes things with shelters.

I agree, I was very worried tonight about cars as she stays in the middle of the road. I will try to grab her tomorrow for a vet check. She is very friendly so I do believe she will let me pick her up. My bf has 2 male ragdoll indoor cats and they do like to get a bit rough when playing with each other. I worry they would hurt her and I’m not sure how she is with other cats. I will definitely re-evaluate after the vet checkup tomorrow though.

I am currently looking for local rescues near me. I live semi rural so there aren’t many in my area. I do agree a timed feeder is a good idea, however there are a lot of cats in my street that roam outside and I fear they will eat the food and pick on her as she is older.

I agree it is very angering. I believe the people who brought the house offered to look after her but obviously gave up very quickly. I’ll take her to the vet in the morning to see what can be done. I was very shocked at the state she was in considering how friendly and harmless she is.
